The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) had conducted the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2022 exam on January 23, 2022. The results were supposed to be released on February 25. However, almost a month has passed since the expected result date. There has been no news or official announcement stating the delay or its cause, from the UPBEB. But there have been many rumours about the UPTET result on social media platforms and the internet. It was expected that the UPTET results will be declared soon after the results of the state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are announced. Yet again, there has been further delay, must to the disappointment of the candidates.
UPTET results expected after the UP elections
The UP legislative assembly elections had concluded successfully on March 10, with the announcement of the election results. Almost 2 weeks post the expected result date, the candidates had believed that the delay in the declaration of the UPTET results was due to the UP election. But, it has been more than a week now, the UP elections are far from over, but no news of UPTET results.

UPTET results and the internet
The UPTET aspirants are exhausted with the number of times they have come across “UPTET results expected today” and “UPTET results to be declared tomorrow”. Now, all they want is “UPTET results declared”. Or at least they expect some announcement from the government and the UPBEB. They demand that justice be done to the 18 lakh candidates who had attempted the exam.

The injustice to the candidates is only the tip of the iceberg. With the academic year, 2021-22 coming to an end and many teachers nearing retirement, this creates a demand-supply issue of human resource, which will have a significant impact on the students of the state. The UPTET exam is one of the most important government exams that test the eligibility of teachers in the state.
Yet another rumour
The recent news surrounding the UPTET is that the results will be announced today, March 19. This news, however, has no solid ground and if it turns out to be just a rumour, it would dishearten the lakhs of candidates who had believed them. These candidates, at least deserve the courtesy of an official announcement.
