Lakhs of railway job aspirants are counting down to July 31, 2026 — the day the RRB Group D Admit Card 2026 goes live. The Railway Recruitment Boards will issue the e-Call Letter for Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 09/2025 roughly four days before each candidate’s allotted Computer Based Test date, and the first CBT slot falls on August 3, 2026. With 22,195 Level-1 vacancies at stake and close to 87 lakh applicants in the fray, this is the biggest single recruitment drive Indian Railways is running this year.

The exam city intimation slip — a separate document — has already been released in phases from July 23-25, 2026 onwards. That slip tells you only your allotted city, exam date and shift so you can book travel. It is not a hall ticket. Only the e-Call Letter, that is the RRB Group D Admit Card 2026, gets you inside the examination centre.

  1. Visit the official website of the Railway Recruitment Board you applied to — for example, rrbcdg.gov.in for RRB Chandigarh or rrbbbs.gov.in for RRB Bhubaneswar.
  2. Open the Notice or Latest Updates section and click the E-Call Letter download link for CEN 09/2025 (Level-1 posts).
  3. You will be redirected to the Digialm candidate login page.
  4. Enter your Registration Number and Password or Date of Birth, then complete the captcha.
  5. The hall ticket will open on screen. Verify every detail carefully.
  6. Download the PDF and take two printouts on A4 paper.

The exam city and date link, along with the Travel Authority download for SC/ST candidates, is available at the official CEN 09/2025 login page. Candidates who need to check or correct their application details can also log in at rrbapply.gov.in.

  • Exam date, shift and reporting time
  • Complete examination centre address

If you spot a spelling error, a wrong photograph or an incorrect category on the RRB Group D Admit Card 2026, contact your RRB immediately through the official helpdesk listed on its website. Do not wait until exam day.

RRB Group D Exam Date 2026 – Full CBT Schedule

The Computer Based Test will be held on 17 dates spread across August 2026, in three shifts each day, at more than 200 centres nationwide. The confirmed dates are August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. Because the exam runs across so many shifts, RRB will apply normalisation while computing final marks, so a slightly tougher shift does not disadvantage you. Since the release of the RRB Group D Admit Card 2026 is staggered exam-date-wise, candidates with later slots should not panic if their link is inactive on July 31 — it will open four days before their own date.

You can follow every notification, answer key and result announcement in this cycle on our RRB Group D news updates page.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2026 for CEN 09/2025

Level-1 recruitment uses a single-stage CBT. The question paper carries 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes, with 120 minutes allowed for eligible PwBD candidates using a scribe. Questions are set at Class 10 standard and are available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages.

SectionQuestionsMarks
General Science2525
Mathematics2525
General Intelligence & Reasoning3030
General Awareness & Current Affairs2020
Total100100

The pattern is also printed in brief on the RRB Group D Admit Card 2026. One-third of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR and EWS, and 30% for OBC-NCL, SC and ST candidates. The section-wise split above is indicative and may vary slightly in the actual paper.

With the paper pitched at Class 10 level, the fastest revision route in the last few days is school study material. Brush up formulas and concepts using Class 10 Science notes, then test yourself with a free RRB Group D mock test and work through previous year question papers and sample papers to get used to the 90-minute pressure.

Exam Day Rules and Aadhaar Biometric Verification

  • Report strictly at the time printed on your hall ticket. Late entry is not permitted under any circumstance.
  • Carry the printed RRB Group D Admit Card 2026 plus one original valid photo ID.
  • RRB conducts Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication at the centre. Keep your Aadhaar unlocked in the UIDAI system before exam day and carry the original or an e-verified printout.
  • Electronic gadgets, smart watches, calculators and study material are strictly prohibited.
  • Biometric and document checks happen before you enter the hall, so allow extra time.

What Happens After the CBT

Clearing the CBT is only the first hurdle. Shortlisted candidates move to the Physical Efficiency Test, which is qualifying in nature, followed by Document Verification and a Medical Examination. Only marks scored in the CBT count towards the final merit list. Vacancies span posts such as Track Maintainer Grade IV, Pointsman, Assistant (S&T), Assistant (TL & AC), Assistant Loco Shed and Assistant Operations across 21 Railway Recruitment Boards.

A word of caution: RRB has repeatedly warned candidates to rely only on official RRB websites and to ignore notices circulating on social media. Fake websites and touts are active around every railway recruitment cycle. Verify anything you read against Indian Railways or your zonal RRB portal before acting on it.
