Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has updated a short notice on UPSC IAS and IFS examination. According to the update, the Civil Services Prelims Exam (including IFS Prelims) will take place as per schedule on June 27, 2021. The detailed notification for Indian Administrative Services (IAS or Civil Services) and Indian Forest Services (IFS) will release in due course of time. Candidates participating this year must visit the official website which is upsc.gov.in to the latest updates.

As per UPSC Calendar 2021, the Civil Services and IFS notification will release on February 10, 2021. The online applications for the same shall commence with the release of notification that is February 10, 2021. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications for Indian Administrative Services and India Forest Services online through upsc.gov.in. The window for the submission of online applications will automatically close on March 02, 2021. Candidates are suggested to submit their online application on or before the prescribed last day.
UPSC release a common application form for IAS and IFS Exam. The application form for UPSC Civil Services 2021 will be available as per scheduled on upsc.gov.in. The application procedure includes two major steps – Paper 1 Registration and Part II Application Form. On the completion of UPSC IAS registration, candidates have to log in and proceed to submit the application form. Hereafter, enter the details as asked in the application form and proceed to pay the application fee. Eligible candidates have to make the payment of Rs. 100/- as the application fee. However, Women/ SC/ ST/ PWBD candidates are exempted from fee submission.
To apply for the IAS, candidates must have graduation and post-graduation degree from recognized university/ institute. Aspirants with graduation degree in animal husbandry and veterinary science, chemistry, botany, geology, mathematics, physics, statistics and zoology can apply for UPSC IFS. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, forestry or in engineering are also eligible for IFS recruitment. They also have to comply with the age limit criteria and physical standards as prescribed by the Commission.
Moreover, the prelims examination of UPSC IAS and UPSC IFS takes place as a common examination as IAS Prelims Exam. On qualifying the prelims examination, IAS aspirants can participate in IAS mains exam. Those who wish to clear IFS exam can appear for IFS Mains Examination. The UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2021 is expected to take place on September 17, 2021. Whereas the UPSC IFS Mains Exam 2021 will be conducted on November 21, 2021. Thereafter, shortlisted candidates have to appear for the personal interview round of UPSC IAS 2021 and UPSC IFS 2021. The schedule for the interview is not yet disclosed by the commission.
