Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh has scrapped all the allegation for the SSC GCL 2018 paper leak. In his written statement to Lok Sabha, Dr. Singh clarified that there was no leak of the question paper. However, incidents of cheating at few venues have been confirmed. He also mentioned that in order to reiterate and reaffirm the faith of the candidates, SSC handed over the case to CBI. Central Bureau of Investigation is carrying out a fair inquiry.
Irregularities in SSC CGL began with Tier I examination, in which it was claimed that shifts after August 15 were tougher in comparison to shifts in the beginning. The case went to the court and the revised result with 126.5 cutoff, lead to adding of 40000 more candidates in the list of qualifiers
SSC conducted CGL Tier 2 between 17 to 22 Feb 2018. Reportedly, the Mathematics paper got leaked on Facebook. SSC stopped the examination in between and rescheduled the examination for March 09, 2018. Then, on February 23, images of a candidate taking the exam from remote location started surfacing on the social media platform. SSC denied all the claims but water flowed above the brim when students found paper chit at center.
All of these followed a huge protest for justice, which started the famous #SSCSCAM. ML Sharma took the matter to the court and sought an investigation for the leaked question papers. No notice was issued but a bench consisting of Justice RK Agrawal and AM Sapre demanded a response from the Center on the case.
Initially, adamant SSC finally recommended a CBI probe. The investigation is going on but assurance from Dr. Jitendra Singh is a clear indication that there was no paper leak.
All of this is leading to delay in the announcement of the SSC CGL Tier II Result. Even SSC foresees the delay and has decided to postpone Tier III Descriptive examination. The examination was earlier due to be held on March 31, 2018, but has been delayed until May 2018. A new date for the examination is expected to be available after the announcement of the result.
SSC CGL Tier II Result is now expected to be announced in the month of April 2018. It will be available online, at ssc.nic.in and will state the score and qualifying status of the candidates. A total of 1,89,843 qualified for Tier II of the exam and of these only those will qualify who will score more than the cutoff.
