In a recent SkyCampus webinar, vice chancellor of SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Dr Sandeep Sancheti, address educators across India. It was organized by ICT Academy and over 3600 educators participated in it.
The theme of season 2 of digital knowledge series was ‘Leading in a VUCA World’ and the chancellor talked on various topics, including the importance of change and how it is an essential element of life. He explained that during these times, certainty is lacking but attempts have to be made to ensure sustainable growth.
Regarding education, he emphasized on putting more focus on research and experiential learning and how digital interventions like virtual labs, webinars, etc. can become essentials for enhancing qualify of education. He further went on to highlight that present day education system lack quality internship and project based learning and there is an urgent need to improve it.
Another important, topic in reference to technology and future, was. “Driving Dozens”. Dr. Sancheti explained that these are the technological tool such as 3D Printing, 5G, Cloud, Biometric eye tracking, Text to speech and how these are a breakthrough in the technological world.
Dr Sancheti concluded by stating the fact that our own inertia is the obstacle for change but we can overcome it by being more open and accepting. Instead of taking it as a problem, one should welcome it.
Other industry leaders like Dr. Anil Sahasarabudhe Chairman AICTE, Mr Lakshmi Narayanan, Emeritus Vice Chairman Cognizant, Mr Sivakumar CEO ICT Academy , Dr. K K Aggarwal, Chairman NBA, Dr Manish Kumar MD & CEO of NSDC were also the part of the webinar and provided insights about VUCA World, challenges faced, and solutions to overcome it.
SkyCampus is a webinar platform by ICT Academy. Through it, the academy is organizing digital knowledge series. The objective of the series is to provide industry expert sessions on various topics relevant to the context of today and the future.

ICT Academy is an initiative of the Government of India. To form this, centre has collaborated with the state governments and other industries. It is a not for profit society, under the public private partnership (PPP) model. The primary objective of ICT is to train higher education teachers and students.
