What Are NCERT MOOCs on SWAYAM?

SWAYAM is the Government of India’s flagship online education platform launched under the Digital India Programme. NCERT has been designated as the National Coordinator (NC) for developing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for school education, specifically for Classes 9 to 12.

These NCERT Free Online Courses are completely free of charge, available 24×7, and built around four learning quadrants:

  • Video Lectures — engaging, expert-led video presentations.
  • Reading Material — downloadable, printable PDFs for offline study.
  • Self-Assessment Tools — quizzes and tests to track progress.
  • Online Discussion Forums — interactive doubt-clearing with mentors and peers.

The aim, as per NCERT, is to make high-quality school education accessible to every learner — whether in a metro city or a remote village — and to help teachers and parents support students better. You can read more about official NCERT updates and study resources on AGLASEM Schools.
