RRB NTPC 2021 Summary of Valid Applications Out; Latest RTI Reply Says Phase 7 Exam Date Undecided

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a summary of valid applications for RRB NTPC 2021 (CEN 01/2019). The summary shows the number of those applications, under each RRB, which has been accepted by the railway of India. As per it, in total 12588524 candidates applied for the exam and of these, 3028520 are UR candidates, 5450511 are OBC (NCL), 166408 are OBC (CL), 2681753 are SC, and 860826 are ST category candidates. Apart from this, as per a recent RTI reply, the Indian railway has made it clear that the exam date for RRB NTPC phase 7 has not been decided yet.

The summary of valid applications is available as pdf, on the official website of all the RRBs. The maximum valid applications are under RRB Allahabad. It is 1808136 in number. After this, 1173523 applications are under RRB Chandigarh, 1144836 under RRB Mumba, and 1135658 RRB Secunderabad. The complete RRN NTPC 2021 summary of applications is as follows.

As far as the RRB NTPC exam date is concerned, an RTI was filed by Anurag Attri. The information about the RTI has been provided by a youtube channel by the name of Umang Study. It was filed on May 31 and the replies against it were received on June 13, 2021. The reply for this RTI has highlighted the 3 important details about the NTPC exam. These are:

#1. RRB NTPC Phase 7 exam date

The RRB NTPC phase 7 exam dates have yet not been decided by the authorities. In the RTI reply, it has been explained that the exam date for NTPC 2021 Phase 7 depends on a lot of factors like availability of exam centre, COVID restrictions in the states, etc. Hence, the board has not decided it until now.

The RTI reply reads, “The CBT 1 exam is under progress. The date of the 7th phase examination depends upon so many factors such as availability of the exam centers, restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, etc. Hence no information could be furnished at this stage.”

#2. How many candidates have appeared for the RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam till phase 6?

RRB has conducted the CBT 1 exam in 6 phases until now. The 7th phase of RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam was about to take place but was postponed due to the second wave of COVID. Thus RRB had to put this phase on hold. As per the reply in the RTI, up to the 6th phase, 1,23,10,437 candidates have taken the exam.

#3. How many candidates registered and of them how many applications have been accepted?

The total number of registered candidates for RRB NTPC recruitment is 1,26,30,885, as per the RTI. Also, as per the official data released by the RRB, the total number of accepted applications by RRB is 1,25,88,524. RRB still have to hold the exam for about 2.5 to 3 lakh candidates.

The total notified vacancy for the RRB NTPC recruitment is 35,208. RRB NTPC 2021 recruitment is conducted in 2 stages, the candidates selected after stage 1 of the CBT exams, will have to appear for stage 2 exams. The stage 2 exams will be called that CBT 2 exams. Those students who qualify in both CBT 1 and CBT 2, are then called for typing skill test followed by the document verification round.
