The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will soon be releasing the modification link for the Group D examination. On November 26, the Board has issued a public notice stating that a modification link will be introduced for only those candidates whose applications have been rejected. Hence, these applicants will be able to modify certain sections of the RRB Group D application form. The notice, however, does not specify the date for the link to be activated. It must be noted that those candidates whose application forms have been accepted need not reapply via the modification link.
As per the notice, the link for making changes will be made available on the official RRB websites. Since the exact date for the availability of the modification link has not been intimated, candidates are nevertheless advised to be ready with the required documents. Please note that this facility can only be used to upload photograph and/or the candidate’s signature. The notice has made it clear that this will be a one-time opportunity to make changes to the photograph and signature. No further modification link will be provided.
The correct specifications of the photograph and the signature have already been mentioned in the official notices that are available in the CENs. Nevertheless, the photograph should be a coloured passport-sized photo and must be taken against a white or light background. It should have dimensions of 35mm x 45mm or 320 x 240 pixels. The size of the photograph file should be between 20-50 kb. It must be taken on or after January 01, 2019.
Similarly, the signature must be done on white paper with a black pen. The box size should be 50mm x 20mm or 140 x 60 pixels. The file must be saved in a JPG/JPEG format with 100 DPI resolution having file size between 10 to 40 KB.
The examination dates and the dates for the availability of admit cards are still unknown. However, speculations are rife that the examinations will take place in December 2021 in a phase-wise manner. Now, this is just a tentative prediction as the candidates will still have to wait for the official dates from RRB. Once the modification period ends, it is likely that the dates for the availability of admit cards and examination will be made available.
The examination will be held for a total of 100 marks for four subjects namely General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning along with General Awareness and Current Affairs. There will be a negative marking of ½ marks. This time, a total of 1,15,67,248 candidates are expected to appear for the exam.
