Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has relaxed the minimum education qualification for RRB Group D Recruitment 2018. As per the updated eligibility:
Candidates who have passed class 10th or ITI or NCVT can apply for the recruitment.
The Group D (Group C Level 1) recruitment was announced earlier this month to fill 62,907 vacancies. The registration for it began on February 10 and numerous candidates were disappointed to know that they are ineligible to apply.
The reason was that candidates needed a combination of class 10 pass + ITI or class 10 pass+ NCVT to apply. This led to agitation among the aspirants throughout the nation.
The disapproval among the candidates has now forced the board to change the eligibility of the exam.
A few days back, the Indian Railway directed RRB to extend the age limit of the exam. The initial upper age limit for the candidates belonging to UR, OBC, SC, and ST category was 31, 34, 36, and 36. The Railway Ministry allowed the relaxation of 2 years and now the upper age limit is 33, 36, 38, and 38 for each category respectively.
The recruitment is open for the post of helper, track machine works, mechanical, carriage & wagon helper, gateman, hospital attended, assistant pointsman, etc. in electrical, engineering, mechanical, medical, traffic, and S&T department.
Now that the eligibility of the examination has been changed immensely, there is a possibility that the candidates will get more time to apply.
The last date to submit RRB Group D application form is available until March 12, 2018. It is expected that the deadline to apply will extend by 15 days.
To apply, the candidates can visit any of the regional RRB websites and access the application portal. The candidates will first have to choose an RRB and then register and submit details. The candidates will also have to pay the application fee.
The amount of fee is Rs. 500 but for the candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PwD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class category the amount is Rs. 250.
The candidates can submit the fee amount online through Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card or via SBI challan.
The RRB has made a lot of changes in the process of recruitment since release of notification. As per the newspaper reports, the candidates are now allowed to sign in regional language as well. Earlier, the candidates could only sign in Hindi or English language.
Also, this year the question paper of the examination will be prepared in 15 languages. These languages are Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. If you have question or query, comment below.
