RPF Recruitment 2018: Registration for SI & Constable Begins on June 1; Know How to Apply

Indian Railway is filling 9739 vacancies for Sub-Inspector (SI) and Constable in Railway Protection Force and Railway Protection Special Force. For PRF SI the total number of vacancies is 1120 and for Constable, it is 8619. The recruitment is open for male and female candidates. The application form for RPF Recruitment 2018 will release on June 01, 2018, and interested candidates will be able to apply online.

There are certain prerequisites which are to be fulfilled before applying. An applicant should fall between the age bar of 18 to 25 years, as on as on July 01, 2018. However, candidates belonging to reserved category will get relaxation on age limit. Another important eligibility criteria for RPF recruitment is that the candidate should be have passed matric if applying for Constable post, or should have completed graduation if applying for SI.

The registration for RPF 2018 will open online. The forms will be available at  constable.rpfonlinereg.org, si.rpfonlinereg.org, and the official website of Indian Railway. The registration will open for a period of one month. Hence, the last date to submit the application form will be June 30, 2018.

Candidates willing to apply will first have to read all the instructions carefully. Then, the candidates will have to register by entering few basic details like name, father’s and mother’s name, date of birth, category, email id etc. Candidates will have to make sure that these details are filled correctly because the provision to change these will not be provided. During form filling, candidates will have to choose RPF Group and Zone. The Groups and Zones are as follows:

Once the registration is done correctly, the candidates will get password and OTP through e-mail and SMS. With the help of these, the candidates will be able to access the login and fill other details in the application form. It is important for the candidates to note that all the details entered in the application form should be authentic and upto the best knowledge of the candidates.

The application fee for RPF Recruitment 2018 is Rs. 500. However, the candidates belonging to SC / ST / etc. need to pay only Rs. 250. The candidates can pay the fee via Net Banking, Debit / Credit Card or SBI / Post Office Challan. In online payment mode, the candidate will be directed to another section of registration and fee will be remitted immediately. But in case of offline and postal service payment, the fee might be processed in 2 days or so. Candidates should note that when they will appear for CBT, the fee will be refunded to them. UR and OBC candidates will get Rs. 400 back, whereas, reserved category candidates will get back the entire amount.

The last step of registration involves uploading of the colored photograph. The photograph should be a clear one, with a light background. The size of the photo should be 35 mm X 45 mm and it should be in JPG or JPEG, scanned with 100 DPI.

Candidates are advised to keep at least  12 copies of the same photograph for further use. SC/ST candidates have to attach their scanned copies of their SC / ST certificates with the form. To conclude the application process, the candidates have to sign the declaration and download the confirmation page.

It is mentioned in the information brochure that candidates will get provision for modification in the application form. However, it is advised that the candidates do not wait for it.
