The Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has made an important announcement via his official twitter account regarding the REET 2022 examination. Accordingly, the REET 2022 examination is all set to be conducted on two days next year i.e., May 14 and 15, 2022. With the Rajasthan Eligibility Entrance Test (REET) 2022, the state will fill around 20,000 teachers vacancies, boosting the teaching and education system within the sate.
The news about REET 2022 exam date comes just a few hours after the CM Gehlot chaired a review meeting with the state education department. During this meeting, the exam date as well as other specifications were discussed and decided. A concrete final decision about conducting the eligibility test in May 2022 was later, announced via Gehlot’s official Twitter account.
According to CM Gehlot’s tweet, provisions will also be made for teachers with specialization and expertise in a particular subject. So that more employment are created for the youth. Additionally, state officers have been directed to resolve the issues currently faced by para-teachers, teaching staff, Madrasa para-teachers and Panchayat assistants. This however, must be done in tandem with the Supreme Court’s decision.
While the announcement does provide more clarity on REET 2022, things haven’t been smooth-sailing in the state. In fact, the para-teachers, hired on a contractual basis, have been holding a dharna for the last several days at the Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur. This is done solely to demand for regularisation and more organisation within their field.
The Dharna intensified after the state government allegedly, did not acknowledge the demands put forth by para-teachers. They also tried moving towards Delhi with the intent of forcing their demands. However the agitators were prevented from moving forward through force.
Another issue has also been floating around among the REET 2022 candidates. Last year, the state eligibility test was held on September 26, 2021, through the offline mode at selected centres across the country. The exam was held with the intention of filling-up a total of 31,000 vacancies under various teaching posts. Since then, candidates have been incessantly demanding for an increase in the number of vacancies to 50,000. So that more number of qualified professionals can pursue a career in the teaching field within the state.
However, with the recent announcement by CM Gehlot, the demand for more vacancies has clearly not been met. In fact, the vacancies this year have reduced from 31,000 to merely 20,000. More details about REET 2022 are expected to come out in a few days’ time.
