Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has decreased the number of vacancies for RRB JE Recruitment 2019. Earlier, the Board announced that the recruitment of Junior Engineer is open for 14033 vacancies. However, as per the new notice the total number of vacancies has been reduced to 13487.
The RRB JE 2019 vacancies has been reduced for each post. For Junior Engineer (JE) the number of vacancies has been decreased from 13034 to 12844. The new total vacancies for Junior Engineer (Information Technology) is 29, for Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) it is 227 and for Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) it is 387.
The reason for cut down in the number of vacancies has not been defined by the Railway Board. It has also stated that the category wise vacancies data published in the Annexure of CEN 03/2018 is also provisional and may increase or decrease, as per the need of Railway Administration.

RRB released the detailed notification for RRB Junior Engineer Recruitment 2019 on December 29, 2018. All the details like, RRB JE syllabus, eligibility, exam pattern, etc of the examination has been informed through it.
The application form for RRB JE 2019 will release on January 02, 2019. The candidates will be able apply online from the official website of 21 RRBs. During the registration, the candidates will have to enter details such as Name, Mobile Number, Date of Birth, E-mail Id, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Aadhaar Number, Education Details, etc.
Other than this, the candidates will also have to pay the application fee. It is Rs. 500 but the candidates belong to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PwD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class category need to pay Rs. 250. The mode of payment will be online and offline. The online modes include net banking, credit card, and debit card. Whereas, the offline mode of payments are SBI and Post Office challan.
RRB will fund application fee to those candidates who will appear for CBT 1. To the reserved category candidates, the entire amount of application fee will be refunded. Whereas, to others Rs. 400 will be refunded.
RRB JE CBT 1 will be held in the month of April – May 2019. There will be 100 questions of 100 marks in the exam. These questions will be asked from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. All the questions will be of multiple choice type and candidates will get 90 minutes to solve these.
RRB is famous for delaying exam date. If RRB JE CBT 1 will be held in April or May 2019, only time will tell. However, interested candidates should apply for the exam before the last date, i.e. January 31, 2019.
