1.5 crore applications have been received by Indian Railways for its two recruitments that were announced this year. Earlier this year, Railway Recruitment 2018 have been announced through notifications numbered CEN 01/2018 and CEN 02/2018.

First one is of RRB ALP and Technician recruitment 2018 in which there are 26502 vacancies.

Second one is RRB Group D recruitment 2018 for which there are 62907 vacancies.

Overall, there are 89604 vacancies.

As can be seen, for every vacant seat, there are 168 people competing for it. So for one candidate to get selected, he / she has to beat 167 people. That is some tough competition for sure.

Why should you continue going after your dreams? Because seeing the look on the faces of the people who said you couldn’t… will be priceless.

However those who have been preparing for government job exams are already familiar with such competition. In almost all government jobs, situation is similar. But what makes Railway Recruitment 2018 even more interesting and tough is that happens once in several years.

Last time that Railways announced major number of vacancies was in the year 2013, for which exams took place in 2015 and results were announced much later. So this process goes on for a long time. Therefore it is very important to make sure that you beat the competition in first attempt.

First, you should start focusing on general knowledge.

GK is one topic that you cannot just mug up in one day. So therefore, study these topics well from TODAY:-

  • Current Affairs
  • Economics
  • Politics
  • History
  • Geography

Also, keep reading railway related news.

Second, general intelligence and reasoning section requires regular PRACTICE.

In this, you should focus on solving several questions every day. No breaks. More questions that you solve, quicker you get at recognizing how to solve types of questions.

Third, for numerical ability, get your hands on some good books with easy, medium, hard  all types of questions. If you are already preparing for SSC exams or other government jobs, then you may already be familiar with medium to hard questions. If not, then don’t worry, there are many great books available online, such as ? Quantitative Aptitude Numerical Ability – 1276: Numerical Ability (Fully Solved) 7000 + Objective Questions ?, which you can use to practice numerical ability daily.

Some more books for Railway Recruitment 2018 are:-

  • Railway Assistant Loco Pilot and Technician 2018
  • RRB Group D Guide 2018
  • स्टडी पैकेज रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड्स ग्रुप डी

Do not wait; the time will never be ‘just right.’ Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.

#1 Make a chart for formulae. Right now you have a lot of time. if you make a chart today, and hang it in your room, then you can see it regularly and it will be easier for you to remember them.

Most important topics for you to make notes and formula list are:- (i) age problems (ii) averages (iii) data analysis and interpretation (iv) mixture and alligation (v) percentages (vi) profit and loss (vii) ratio and proportion (viii) simple interest and compound interest (ix) time and work (x) time, speed and distance.

#2 Either take notes of most important news daily, or find a source where you can get all news in one place. Read it daily. Discuss news with friends. Interesting discussions help you remember facts of news more easily.

#3 Every time you solve questions, try to find shorter methods of solving them. You will, in this way, build speed and accuracy.

#4 Solve sample papers.

#5 After solving a sample paper, check which are your strengths and weaknesses. Work on them.

Now that RRB Group D recruitment 2018 and RRB ALP and Technician recruitment 2018 events are going on, candidates can apply online. Last date to apply for Railway Recruitment 2018 is March 31, 2018.

Many candidates have started enquiring about form correction.

RRB 2018 Form Correction

Candidates can right now edit data in form, if they were earlier ineligible but now as per revised rules they are eligible.

Other than that, details apart from RRB, registration number, mobile number, email ID can be edited. To modify details in form, one has to pay Rs 250 which is the correction fee. By paying this fee, data can be edited.

Apart from correction, those who have applied are also wishing to know about admit card.

RRB 2018 Admit Card

Whereas any specific date has not been given by Indian Railways regarding RRB 2018 admit card, it is quite clear that hall tickets will be available around 10-15 days prior to exam. Railways says in its official notification that admit card will be released ten days before exam.

Candidates must have login credentials ready to download admit card as soon as it is released.

In the online application form of Railway Recruitment 2018, for which the last date is 31 March, there was no option to select exam centre or city. This has confused many candidates as to how they will get a centre. For that, candidates are informed that Railways usually use your opted RRB to decide where to assign exam centre.

Don’t watch the clock; do what it does. Keep going.

Before applying, candidates are advised to check their eligibility regarding educational qualification, age, and physical fitness. Later on, one has to pass physical fitness test also. So it is better to be prepared beforehand.

Race is on to become Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP), Technician, Track Maintainer / Trackman, Gateman, Pointsman, Helpers in Electrical, Helpers, Porters.

Many candidates give up before the exam only. Don’t be one of them. Instead, be completely confident that you can, and you will then definitely crack RRB.

As you know now, for 89604 Vacancies, 1.5 crore have applied. So you have to work hard with full dedication to crack RRB in first attempt. Railways might announce ASM and TC recruitment, but instead of waiting for that, focus on getting a job in either group D or ALP, whichever you are eligible for, now.
