The Indian Railways is expected to release the Group D recruitment 2021 exam schedule soon on its official website. Admit cards for the exam will also be released soon after the announcement of the exam date. Similar to the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) 2021 examination, this exam is expected to be conducted in a phase-wise manner. As per the official notification, this recruitment exam aims to fill a total of 1,03,769 vacancies under Group D in the Indian Railways.
In December 2020, RRC (Railway Recruitment Cell) authorities had stated that the Group D 2021 exam would be conducted after the NTPC 2021 computer-based test (CBT) exam. Authorities conducted the NTPC 2021 examination till July 31, 2021. Since then, more than a month has passed and authorities have still not provided any exam schedule, thus creating confusion among students.
Recently, RRC Group D 2021 applicants took to Twitter, requesting the Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to declare the exam schedule as soon as possible. The application process for the CBT was conducted in 2019. Since then, almost 2.5 years have passed, and yet, students have no clarity on the exam schedule.
Within these two years, the country was dealing with the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under such circumstances, conducting a national-level recruitment exam was impractical. However, now that the situation is relatively better, it seems like a convenient time to conduct the recruitment exam.
While these are obvious reasons because of which authorities had to delay the exam, they are yet to provide any official clarification on the same. Nevertheless, candidates are expecting some clarification from the RRC, so as to get clarity on this exam.
Now, multiple news reports are claiming that RRC is likely to release the Group D 2021 exam schedule soon, probably in September 2021. In case of the NTPC exam, authorities had taken a duration of 7 months to conduct the exam across the country. The Group D recruitment exam is likely to take the same amount of time to conduct the CBT in India.
Candidates preparing for the Group D recruitment exam must have a thorough understanding of the paper pattern. Accordingly, the paper shall cover subjects such as – General Science (25 questions), Mathematics (25 questions), General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 questions), and General Awareness and Current Affairs (20 questions). Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark, while 1/3 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
RRB Group D 2021 recruitment drive shall take place in three stages – Computer-based examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification. Candidates, who clear the first two stages, will be shortlisted to appear for the verification process. Candidates are advised to wait for the official announcement while checking the official website frequently.
