Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSE-Odisha), is all set to re-open the registration link for the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) 2021. Interested and eligible candidates have been given another opportunity starting December 23, 2021, to fill and submit the online application form. They will have time up to January 04, 2022, to complete registration formalities. This re-activation of the registration link is being done for all those who were unable to apply for OSSTET 2021 in the 1st phase.
A recent public notice was issued by BSE-Odisha announcing the re-activation of the OSSTET 2021 activation link. However, instead of calling it “re-activation“, the board is calling it “2nd Phase Application Process“. The notice states that candidates will be able to apply for the eligibility test from December 23, 2021, to January 04, 2022. The entire application process will be conducted online through the official portal. So, no candidate is required to personally visit the BSE-Odisha to give them a hard copy of their application.

Another major change has been introduced in the OSSTET 2021 format, pertaining to the educational eligibility criteria. The School and Mass Education (S&ME) Government department has also decided to reduce the minimum qualifying percentage for General category candidates from 60% to 45%. Similarly, in the case of reserved categories, the qualifying percentage has been reduced from 50% to 35%.
The public notice further clarifies that candidates who have already filled and submitted their application form are not required to fill it again. Similarly, those who have paid the OSSTET 2021 fee need not pay the amount again. However, if any step of the application process is left, aspirants need to complete the same using the application link. Moreover, they need to abide by the time frame specified by BSE-Odisha.
Initially, BSE-Odisha had begun the OSSTET 2021 application process on the official website bseodisha.ac.in, from November 12, 2021. This was essentially the 1st phase of registration which continued till November 20, 2021. However, several candidates could not finish the registration process owing to limited time. So, for such candidates, BSE-Odisha has decided to resume the registration process.
BSE-Odisha is yet to announce the OSSTET 2021 exam date. It is safe to assume that the state eligibility test will be held in the January-February 2022 period, provided that the conditions within Odisha are conducive. Assuming this timeline, candidates need to pay close attention to their preparation along with successfully applying for the exam.
