ICMAI Postpones CMA June 2021

National Testing Agency is going to conduct the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2020 cycle from May 02 to May 17, 2021. The second wave of coronavirus has forced various central and state education boards to postpone their board exams. UGC NET 2021 aspirants are speculating that NTA shall take a similar decision and postpone the exam. However, no such official announcement has been made by NTA. Admit cards for the exam are expected to release soon on the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

NTA issued a public notice on February 02, 2021 announcing new dates for the UGC NET December 2020 cycle. Every year, UGC NET is held twice – in June and in December. However, the COVID-19 pandemic created disturbances in the 2020 academic year and hence, the December 2020 session could not be conducted on time. Instead, NTA decided to conduct the session from May 02 to 17, 2021.

The second wave of coronavirus, however, is creating doubts among aspirants about whether the exam will be conducted as per the decided schedule. While NTA has not responded to these speculations, they are expected to release the admit card soon for the UGC NET December 2020 cycle scheduled in May 2021.

According to the public notice issued NTA on December 01, 2020, a total of 2,59,734 candidates registered for the post of Assistant Professor. Out of the total registered candidates, 1,40,479 candidates appeared for the examination.

A total of 6,01,242 candidates registered for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts. Out of the total registered aspirants, 3,86,228 candidates appeared for the exam. The same number of candidates are expected to appear for the examination in May 2021. However, the official statistics shall be provided by NTA after the conduction of exam.

UGC NET December 2020 session is scheduled to be conducted on May 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 17, 2021. Admit cards for the same shall be released on the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. In case the exams are conducted as per schedule, candidates are expected to bring the admit card printout to the allotted examination centre.

To download the admit cards, candidates must click on the “View Admit Card” option on the homepage of the website. A new window shall open in which candidates have to enter the required credentials including application number, date of birth and captcha code. On submitting these credentials, the candidate admit card shall be displayed on the screen. Candidates are advised to take a printout of their admit card of UGC NET for future reference.

Due to the prevailing COVID-19 conditions, candidates have to bring their UGC NET admit card along with the self-declaration form. they are also permitted to bring a simple transparent ballpoint pen, an extra candidate’s photograph, a 50 ml hand sanitiser bottle, and water bottle (transparent). Diabetic candidates are also permitted to bring sugar tablets or fruits inside the examination hall.
