The Spices Board under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry is inviting suitably qualified candidates to fill up 08 contractual vacancies for Software Engineer & other posts through walk-in-test. The walk-in-test is scheduled to be held on December 30, 2020. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to appear in the walk-in-test. The test includes a written test and skill & practical tests. Candidates are required to bring the applications filled up in the specified format and original certificates. As per the latest recruitment advertisement published by the Spices Board online, there are 02 vacancies each for the posts of Software Engineer (PHP) and System Engineer. In addition, there are 04 vacancies available for the posts of System Support Engineer. Selected candidates are to be appointed for an initial period of 01 year extendable to maximum of 02 years.

Software Engineer (PHP) post holders are eligible to receive a fixed salary at the rate of Rs 25000/month during the first year and Rs 27000/month during the second year. System Engineer post holders are entitled to receive a fixed salary of Rs 20,500/month in the first year and Rs 22,200/month in the second year. Likewise, System Support Engineer post holders are entitled to receive Rs 17000/month and Rs 18400/month salary during the first and second year respectively.
Candidates holding a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Engineering/CS/IT/Electronics & Communication or a Masters degree in Computer Application/CS/IT is eligible t apply for the post of Software Engineer (PHP). Applicants must have the requisite software skills and at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in software development/maintenance using PHP. The maximum age limit is 40 years.
Those who have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/B.Sc./BCA qualification in specified branches of Computer/IT can apply for the post of System Engineer. Candidates with 3 years diploma in Computer Engineering/Computer Hardware/IT can also apply. Applicants not exceeding 40 years of age and having at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in System Support can apply. Similar qualification holders with at least 02 years of experience are eligible to apply for the post of System Support Engineer.
Merit lists are to be drawn on the basis of performance in the written test and skill & practical test to be held on the date of walk-in-test. The walk-in-tests are to be conducted at Spices Board office at Sugandha Bhavan, NH Bypass, Palarivattom, P.O. Kochi – 682025, Kerala. The tests are to be conducted on the aforementioned date from 03.00 PM for Software Engineer applicants and 11.00 AM for System Engineer & System Support Engineer applicants.
Document verification is to be conducted on the same day at the same venue. For Software Engineer post, document verification commences at 02.30 PM while for System Engineer & System Support Engineer, the document verification is scheduled to commence at 10.30 AM.
Aspirants are required to report to the venue at least 30 minutes before the indicated timings for document verification. All documents must be carried in original along with one photocopy of each. Upon selection, candidates have to sign an agreement on a stamp paper worth Rs 200.
