Delhi Subordinate Selection Board (DSSSB) issued a notification yesterday, June 03, 2021, announcing the indefinite postponement of the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) recruitment 2021 examination. The official notice was published on the board’s website dsssb.delhi.gov.in. The website also states that all exams scheduled from June 08 to 20, 2021 are postponed to a later date. Candidates who have registered for the recruitment exam have been advised to check the official website consistently for future updates.

Previously, DSSSB released the official advertisement for PGT 2021 recruitment on April 13, 2021, on the official website dsssb.delhi.gov.in. In continuation with the advertisement posted in April 2021, authorities issued another one on May 06, 2021. The second advertisement announced the official schedule for PGT recruitment 2021 exams scheduled from June 08 to 20, 2021. Exams were to be conducted through the computer-based format at allotted centres by following all social-distancing protocols.
Subsequently, authorities were scheduled to release the admit cards for the recruitment examination on the official website. However, exams have been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While authorities have not announced any tentative schedule for the examination, the recruitment exam is likely to be conducted once the pandemic situation normalises in the country. Hence, authorities have advised candidates to constantly check the official website for important announcement and not believe any unreliable rumours.
Once the revised exam is released, candidates are advised to download or print the exam admit cards well-in advance. The DSSSB PGT 2021 admit cards shall display the candidate’s name as well as exam date and time. Furthermore, detailed instructions regarding the online, computer-based exam shall also be mentioned in the e-admit card.
DSSSB authorities shall be announcing the admit card release date on the official website. However, just as an extra measure, students shall be informed of the same on their registered mobile number. Candidates shall be allowed to download the admit cards only up to a certain deadline. Beyond this, no request for download of admit cards shall be entertained further by authorities. According to previous instructions, candidates had to follow COVID19 related safety measures such as wearing masks, maintaining social distance, etc. The same instructions are expected to be applicable in the future.
In 2021, authorities have announced a total of 11,000 vacancies for teaching jobs. Along with the PGT recruitment, DSSSB also plans on recruiting a total of 5,807 trained graduate teachers. All these posts have been approved by the Directorate of Education (DoE). DSSSB authorities are expected to announce the revise schedule in due course of time.
