The Odisha government on Friday has cancelled the Odisha Class 12th Board exam. Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, has declared the Odisha Class 12 2021 exam will not take place this year due to COVID-19. The evaluation criteria will be announced later on.

On June 04, 2021, CMO Odisha tweeted a thread stating that due to COVID-19 the CHSE Odisha Class 12 exams are cancelled by CM. Due to the prevailing situation of coronavirus all over the county, the Odisha Government has decided to cancel the CHSE Odisha exam this year. While making the announcement, he stated that a student’s life is more important than the exam. CM also lauded the efforts, determination and patience that students and their parents have showcased during these hard times. To this, he further added that “As long as life is safe, there will be eternal possibilities and society and civilization will move forward”.

In addition, the CM has directed the experts’ committee to prepare Class 12th results within the stipulated time frame on experts’ advice. As per the reports, the final result preparation criteria will be shared in due course of time. If any student is not satisfied with the result, they can take the test later on.

Moreover, the Prime Minister of India has recently announced that the CBSE Class 12 Exam 2021 was cancelled. A day after the announcement was made, several state boards have announced the cancellation of the Board exam. Till today, nine state boards have announced the cancellation of respective State Board Exams. Yesterday, on June 03, 2021, UP Board, and Goa Board announced the cancellation of the State 12 Board exam. A day before that, RBSE, MP board, GSEB has declared that the board examination in their respective states will not be held. Haryana State Board was the first state-level board to cancel the 12th examination following CBSE news. Earlier, CM Naveen Patnaik had postponed CHSE Odisha 2021 exam date until further notice. The exams for Class 12th were expected to start from May 18, 2021. However, the Centre’s decision to cancel the exam might have prompted the CMO of Odisha and CHSE to cancel the 12th boards’ examination of the state. Approximately, 3.5 lakh students were eagerly waiting for the final decision on the class 12th boards exam.
