Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) is inviting online applications from suitably qualified candidates for engagement of 150 Apprentices at Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru. DRDO has published a detailed recruitment notification in this regard at the official website drdo.gov.in. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online at the official website before January 29, 2021. DRDO is going to publish the first list of shortlisted candidates on February 12, 2021, at the official website. Shortlisted candidates have to submit their acceptance before February 21, 2021. DRDO is to begin interaction with shortlisted candidates who submit acceptance from February 24, 2021, onwards. The list of finally selected candidates is to be released tentatively on March 01, 2021. Candidates will be allowed to join as apprentices tentatively from April 01, 2021.
As per the detailed notification published by DRDO, the vacancies are available for Graduate, Diploma and ITI candidates who have passed not earlier than 2018. For Graduate Apprentice Trainee, there are 80 vacancies available in various disciplines. 30 vacancies are available for Diploma apprentice trainee in various disciplines. In addition, 40 vacancies are available for ITI apprentice trainees in various Trades.
DRDO GTRE Apprentice Recruitment 2021 Detailed Notification
Selected candidates are to be engaged under provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 for a monthly stipend. The stipend amount for Graduate apprentice trainee is Rs 9000 per month. For Diploma apprentice trainees, the monthly stipend amount is Rs 8000 while for ITI apprentice trainee, the monthly stipend amount is Rs 7000. Selected candidates have to sign a contract and submit medical fitness certificate and police verification documents at the time of joining.
Applicants must fulfil the specified minimum eligibility conditions before applying. Only those candidates who have not undergone apprentice training before, holds less than 1 year of work experience and have passed the qualifying exam not before 2018 are eligible to apply. All applicants must be at least 18 years old in order to apply while the upper age limit is 27 years. However, relaxations of the upper age limit can be availed by candidates belonging to reserved categories.
For Graduate Apprentice posts, applicants must have a graduate degree in Engineering/Technology obtained from a recognized University. Similarly, candidates intending to apply for Diploma Apprentice posts must have a Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by a State Council or Board of Technical Education. Candidates intending to apply for ITI Apprentices posts must have a vocational certificate (ITI) from a NCVT or SCVT institute.
Selection of the eligible applicants is to be done on the basis of merit. After initial scrutiny of the received applications, candidates are to be intimated about the selection interviews. It may be noted that no TA/DA is to be paid to attend the interviews. Similarly, DRDO does not provide any accommodation during the training period.
Candidates have to apply online at the official website before the last date and generate a print out of the submitted application form. The same must be carried to the interview along with original documents and their self-attested copies. A list of documents to be enclosed is indicated in the official advertisement. In addition, it is mandatory for Graduate & Diploma candidates to register at mhrdnats.gov.in and ITI candidates at apprenticeshipindia.org before applying at the DRDO website. Its is advised that candidates read the notification carefully before applying.
