Indian Railway is yet to announce the RRC Group D exam dates. It was highly expected that right after finishing the NTPC exam, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will announce the exam dates for RRC Group D CBT 1 (CEN 01/2019). The NTPC exams got over in July 2021. However, there was still no clarity about the Group D exam dates. Since the recruitment has already been delayed by 2 years, the applicants are now getting restlessness. This is evident from the #conduct_rrc_groupd_exam which is trending on Twitter.
The aspirants continue to storm Twitter with tweets, complaining about the never-ending delay. For months, candidates have been incessantly tweeting using the hashtag #conduct_rrc_groupd_examdate. This hashtag received as many as 3.35 lakh impressions on the social media platform in July 2021. Most students were requesting the railway minister and the RRC to announce the revised examination schedule. Along with this, another hashtag #RRB_EXAM_CALENDAR also garnered a lot of attention.
According to some students, more than two years have passed since they have filled the application form. Yet, Railway authorities have not released the exam date. This has led to instability and distress for approximately 1 crore aspirants. Yet, authorities have not provided any clarity on the same.
Both RRB NTPC and RRC Group D notifications were released around the same time in 2019. However, while the former has already been conducted, there is still no clarity about the latter. According to reports, RRC Group D computer-based examination was supposed to be held in the first week of June 2021. However, the second wave of COVID-19 struck the nation and hence, no exams were conducted in the April-June 2021 period. Even the RRB NTPC examination was stalled due to the pandemic.
As of now, candidates do not have any leads about the actual exam date. However, other details are quite clear regarding RRC Group D exam. For instance, RRB has already confirmed that the Group D exam shall be held in the online or computer-based mode. Under the current circumstances, the exam is likely to be held in a multi-stage format. NTPC exam was held in 7 phases and given the number of applicants, it is expected that RRC Group D will also be held in multiple phases, probably 7-8.
Candidates who qualify the CBT 1 shall be required to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This stage will be followed by document verification and medical examination, the RRC officials confirmed.
