The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting the Prelims 2021 exam for Common Recruitment Process (CRP) of Officers (Scale I, II & III) and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) on August 01, 07, 08, 14 and 21, 2021. Candidates who have applied for Officer (Scale I) and Office Assistant posts are appearing in the Prelims exam. Today was the second day of the exam, held in four consecutive shifts. The IBPS RRB Prelims 2021 question paper consists of two sections on Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude (for Officer Scale-I)/Numerical Ability (Office Assistant). Each section carries 40 MCQ type questions and candidates are to complete the test for 80 MCQs in a duration of 45 minutes in each shift.
Shift 1 (09.00 AM to 09.45 AM)
As per memory-based reports, the question paper of the first shift exam today was of a moderate difficulty level. Moderate difficulty level questions were asked in each section (Reasoning and Quant/Numerical Ability). As such, the overall number of good attempts in the first shift exam is envisaged to be in the range of 58 to 63 out of 80 questions. In the Reasoning section, the number of good attempts is envisaged to be 29 – 33 out of 40 questions while in the Quant/Numerical Ability section, the number of good attempts is envisaged to be in the range of 24 – 27.
In the Reasoning section, questions were asked from Chinese Coding, Box Based Puzzle, Month-Date based puzzle, Floor based puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Inequality, Direction & Distance etc. Besides, this section also included some questions from Blood Relation, Word Formation, Syllogism etc.
In Quantitative Aptitude, Pie Chart & Tabular Data Interpretation. Questions were also asked from Approximation, Wrong Number Series & Quadratic Equation. From Arithmetic, around 10-12 questions were asked in this section.
Shift 2 (11.15 AM to 12.00 PM)
Similar to the first shift exam, the overall level of difficulty of the second shift IBPS RRB Prelims 2021 exam held today was of the moderate difficulty level. The questions asked in the second shift exam were similar to that of the first shift exam and there was no element of surprise, as per memory-based reports from candidates who took the second shift exam. Both the sections on Reasoning and Quan/Numerical Ability were of the moderate difficulty level.
Given the level of difficulty of the second-shift exam, the overall number of good attempts is envisaged to be in the range of 53 to 57. As per reports in the Reasoning section, the number of good attempts can go to as high as 29 to 33 out of 40 questions. On the other hand, in the Quant/Numerical Ability section, the number of good attempts can reach as high as 21 to 23 questions out of 40 questions.
05 questions each were asked from the topics of Chinese Coding, Inequality, Order & Ranking, Linear Arrangement etc. in the Reasoning section. Besides, questions were also asked from Direction, Comparision based puzzles, Year based puzzles etc. In Quantitative Aptitude, questions were asked from Tabular & Caselet Data Interpretation, Bar graph, Quadratic Equation, Approximation etc.
Shift 3 (01.30 PM to 02.15 PM)
The overall level of difficulty of the third shift question paper was easy to moderate, as per memory-based reports from candidates who appeared in the third shift of the IBPS RRB Prelims 2021 exam held today. Compared to the first and second shift exams, the section on Reasoning was of the easy to the moderate difficulty level. However, the section on Quant/Numerical Ability was of a moderate difficulty level.
Based on the level of difficulty of the third shift exam, the overall number of good attempts of the third shift question paper is envisaged to be in the range of 58-60. In the Reasoning section, the number of good attempts can go as high as 29-33 questions out of 40. On the other hand, in the Quant/Numerical Ability section, the number of good attempts is in the range of 24 to 27.
Five questions each were asked from the topics of Syllogism, Circular Based Puzzle, Box Based Puzzle, Comparision Based Puzzle, Linear Arrangement and Inequality in the Reasoning section. Other important topics in this section included Direction & Distance, Blood Relations, Alpha Numeric Series etc. In the Quantitative Aptitude section, questions from Bar Graph & Pie Chart Data Interpretation was common. Around eight questions were asked from Approximation. Twelve questions were asked from Arithmetic. In addition. questions were also asked from topics like Quadratic Equation and Missing Series.
Shift 4 (03.45 PM to 04.30 PM)
As reported by candidates who appeared in the fourth shift exam of IBPS RRB Prelims 2021, the overall level of difficulty of the paper was easy to moderate. Compared to the previous shifts, the Reasoning section was easy while the Quant/Numerical Ability section was easy to moderate difficulty level.
The Reasoning section being easy, the number of good attempts in this section is envisaged to be in the range of 29 to 34 while that for the Quant/Numerical Ability, the number of good attempts can be in the range of 20 to 25.
In the Reasoning section, around 18 puzzle questions were asked, seven from Linear Arrangement and five questions from Square Arrangement were asked. Other important topics included Syllogism, Chinese Coding, Blood Relations, Order Ranking etc. In the Quant/Numerical Ability Question, Data Interpretation based questions were asked from Bar DI, Tabular DI, Pie-Chart DI etc.
