Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has released the much-awaited notification for the Chhattisgarh State Service Examination 2022. Registration for CGPSC 2022 exam will remain open for a month from December 01, 2021, at psc.cg.gov.in. The last date to apply for this examination is December 30, 2021. CGPSC Prelims exam is scheduled to be held on February 13, 2022, in two batches from 10 AM to 12 noon, and 3 PM to 5 PM respectively. Applicants who successfully clear the preliminary exam will then be eligible to apply for CGPSC Main exam. The schedule for the same will be updated soon on the official website of CGPSC at psc.cg.gov.in.
Candidates can apply for the examination online. The online registration link will be activated at psc.cg.gov.in on December 01, 2021, from 12 noon onwards. All candidates are encouraged to apply and pay the application fee before the last day of registration. The application form correction process will be followed from December 31, 2021, onwards. The last date for committing corrections in the submitted application form is January 05, 2022. Application fee for CGPSC form varies with category. Unreserved candidates have to pay Rs. 400 whereas reserved candidates have to pay Rs. 300 as their application fee for CGPSC 2022 exam.
According to the notification, CGPSC has announced a total of 171 vacancies in the state services. Out of which 69 seats are allotted in the unreserved category, 25 seats are reserved for OBC, 23 for SC and 54 for the ST category. Reservation for Chhattisgarh’s residential women candidates and ex-military servicemen amongst these has also been allocated.
Interested candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying for CGPSC 2022 exam. A candidate must hold a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India Applicant should be at least 21 years old. Also, the upper age limit is fixed at 30 years. Both ages are calculated against the first January of the year of advertisement. However, there is suitable age relaxation for various categories of candidates as elaborated in the CGPSC 2022 information Brochure.
CGPSC Preliminary Examination 2022 will be conducted in offline mode at different centers across the state. The preliminary test will be in the MCQ-based format. There will be 2 compulsory papers of 2 hours duration each. The first paper will be based on General Studies (GS) in which 100 questions will be asked for 200 marks. The second paper in CGPSC 2022 preliminary exam will be the Aptitude Test. 100 questions will be framed for 200 marks in the paper 2 test. There will be 5 options in every question with a single correct answer. Negative marking will be 1/3rd of marks allotted to the question. Candidates need to obtain 33% marks (23% for reserved category, handicapped candidates) in each paper to qualify the test. Second paper is known to be qualifying in nature. Only marks of the first paper shall be used to determine merit for shortlisting candidates for the main exam.
