Army Recruiting Office, Pithoragarh, is going to conduct a recruitment rally to fill up vacancies for various Soldier posts from February 15 to 23, 2021 at Kumaon Regimental Centre Ranikhet. An official recruitment notice is available in this regard at the recruitment website of Indian Army i.e. joinindianarmy.nic.in. Eligible candidates only from the districts of Pithoragarh and Champawat of Uttarakhand state have to register online from December 17, 2020, to January 30, 2021, at the aforementioned website to participate in the rally. The admit cards for the rally are to be sent through registered email from January 31 to February 01, 2021.
Candidates can apply for recruitment to the posts of Soldier (GD), Soldier GD (IDG), Soldier Technical, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical/Inventory Management, and Soldier Tradesman (10th Pass). Candidates within the age limit of 17.5 to 23 years are eligible to apply given that they fulfil the minimum physical standards as indicated in the detailed advertisement. However, for Soldier GD posts, the upper age limit is 21 years.

Applicants must have passed Class 10 with 45% marks in aggregate and 33% marks in each subject to apply for Soldier GD post. Those who have passed Class 12 with PCM and English subjects by securing at least 50% aggregate marks and 40% marks in each subject can apply for Soldier Technical post. Candidates who have passed Class 12 exam in any stream with 60% marks in aggregate (50% in each subject with 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping) can apply for the post of Soldier Clerk. Simple Class 10 pass candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Soldier Tradesman given that they have secured 33% marks in each subject.
Registered candidates have to appear in the rally as per schedule with the printed copy of the admit card and other specified documents (including 20 copies of unattested and coloured passport sized photographs). The selection at the rally site is deemed to be conducted through PFTs including 1.6 Km run, 9 feet ditch, Pull-ups and zig-zag balance. In addition, candidates have to qualify through the physical measurement tests as per standards of the Indian Army. The final stage is the Medical stage following which, qualifiers are to be issued admit cards to appear in a written exam as per schedule mentioned on the admit card.
Aspiring candidates are advised to read all the terms and conditions of the recruitment carefully before applying. Use of performance enhancing drugs for the rally is strictly prohibited and the Army also imposes certain restrictions on body tattoos. In addition, all candidates are required to adhere with strict COVID-19 prevention guidelines as indicated on the advertisement.
