There are exactly 90 days left for the first RRB NTPC Exam Date 2020. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) are scheduled to start the first stage computer based test of the RRB NTPC 2019-2020 from December 15, 2020. A number of important activities are scheduled for the 1.26 crore candidates who have applied for the Non Technical Popular Categories against 35,208 vacancies in the coming three months.
#1. Railway Recruitment Boards must finalize the ECA.
A number of tenders have been released one after the other to finalize exam conducting agency (ECA). For example the last tender on RRB Chennai’s website mentioned date and time of opening of technical bids was August 17, 2020. This process has been going on since March.
#2. 1.26 crore candidates will first have to get their RRB NTPC 2020 application status.
All the RRBs will provide the status of acceptance / rejection of candidates at their respective websites. Right now a link to print application and check status is active at https://rrbonlinereg.co.in/print.html but it is important to note that this status is provisional. When the application status is released, RRBs release a notification in which they give the start and end date of viewing status. They also send email and sms to candidates whose forms are rejected. A similar activity was done for RRB Group D 2020 (RRC CEN 01/2019) in the month of July last year. Since the exam date of RRB NTPC 2020 is from December 15, 2020, the application status is expected to be released anytime now.
#3. After that RRB NTPC 2020 exam date, shift, city intimation will be activated at candidate login.
There is usually a single notification on the start date of exams. In the case of RRB NTPC 2019-2020, no official notification PDF has been released but instead Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal uploaded a video on twitter with the exam date.
But for the entire schedule of exams i.e. all the exam dates, no separate notification is usually released. Instead a notification will be out on “exam date, shift, city intimation” which will tell when candidates can login to check which exam date, shift, and city has been assigned to them.
Usually notification for this releases 11-12 days before the exam date, and candidates can login to check their exam date, shift, city from 8-9 days before the exam. However in the case of RRB NTPC 2020, this activity may happen a little sooner in November or December as in the pandemic candidates will need these details sooner for travel arrangements.
#4. RRBs will activate a link for mock test.
The official RRB NTPC 2020 mock test will be made available one week prior to the exam date, as expected from past railway recruitment.
#5. Indian Railways will issue train travel authority to SC/ST candidates
Scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates will be able to download a free sleeper class railway pass. When they travel, they need to carry it, with their original caste certificate. This too shall be available around one week before exam.
#6. RRB NTPC 2020 admit card will be released.
Respective RRBs shall activate link to download admit card for the RRB NTPC 2019-2020 CBT 1 exam. Candidates will have to login to the links to get their hall tickets. Usually the admit card download link is activated 4 days prior to the exam. Since the exams are scheduled from December 15, 2020, therefore the e-call letter download link is looked forward to be available from December 11, 2020.
The first stage of examination will be a computer based test comprising of 40 questions of general awareness, 30 questions of mathematics, and 30 questions of general intelligence and reasoning.
Exactly 1,26,30,885 applications were received by all the RRBs combined against the centralized employment notification 01/2019.
Even though the exam date has been announced, candidates are questioning whether there will be further delays. Chances of that exist, mainly because of the pandemic. But it is better for all to focus on preparation as competition is going to be tough. If the above 6 events happen on time then exams will not be delayed.
