West Bengal Public Service Commission is inviting applications fro suitably qualified candidates to fill up 07 vacancies for the post of Geo-hydrological/Geological Assistant. WBPSC’s advertisement number 16/2020 is available at the website wbpsc.gov.in containing the complete details of the recruitment. Eligible and intending candidates are invited to apply online at the aforementioned website for recruitment to the vacant positions. The online application process is starting on December 16, 2020 while the last date of application and payment of fees is January 05, 2021. Candidates can generate payment challans till January 05, 2021 and pay the fees offline till January 06, 2021.
As per the detailed advertisement available at the WBPSC website, the 7 vacancies for the post of Geo-Hydrological/Geological Assistant are available under the Water Resources Investigation and Development of the state government. 02 vacancies are reserved for ST candidates while one vacancy is reserved for each of the categories of OBC-A (NCL), OBC-B (NCL) and SC.
Selected candidates are to be appointed at the Level-11 of the pay band in the scale of Rs 33400 to Rs 86100. However, for successful selection, it is mandatory that candidates have the requisite qualifications and meet other eligibility criteria on or before the closing date.
WBPSC RECRUITMENT 2020 FOR GEO-HYDROLOGICAL/GEOLOGICAL ASSISTANT DETAILED ADVERTISEMENT
All applicants must have at least a Second Class Honours degree or Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology from a recognized university. The age of the applicants must not be more than 39 years as on January 01, 2020. In addition, it is mandatory for all applicants to be able to read, write and speak in Bengali. However, those who have Nepali mother tongue is exempted from this criteria. It may also be noted that only Indian Nationals and other declared eligible by the Indian Government are allowed to apply for this recruitment.
Selection for recruitment to the aforementioned vacancies is to be done on the basis of interview/personality test of eligible applicants. Candidates who register and apply for the recruitment are advised to keep a close tab on the official website for further details about the interview. It may be noted that the Commission will conduct adequate tests for determining the ability to read, write and speak in Bengali during the interview process.
Candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 160 in order to apply. In addition, for payment through debit/credit card and internet banking, 1% convenience fee (Rs 5 minimum) and 18% GST must be paid. For offline payment using Bank Challan, candidates have to pay a service charge of Rs 20. SC/ST and PwD candidates are completely exempted from the payment of any fee.
