Dress Code for the Exam
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board has not laid down any guidelines per se as the dress code. Nevertheless, some general guidelines may be followed by candidates in order to save them time in frisking and for overall comfort and being not raising suspicion at center.
Candidates are advised to wear weather appropriate clothing. The center may or may not be equipped with heating / cooling, and thus to be overall comfortable and alert while taking the test, wear comfortable clothing.
However comfortable clothing does not necessarily mean clothes one may wear at home or as night wear. Wear clothes appropriate for school or going out.
In terms of whether short, top, skirt, pants, jeans and what to wear in such clothes, there is no hard and fast rule. Wear such clothes that do not have too many pockets or collars. This is because students who indulge in malpractices often hide chits, bluetooth, and such material in pockets, collars, buttons, accessories. Thus these things raises the suspicion of invigilators. So avoid those clothes.
You should not be wearing any wristwatch.
As far as masks, sanitizers, gloves, face shield are concerned, the board has again not provided any guidelines for these. Nevertheless, in view of the ongoing pandemic, students should wear masks and maintain social distancing. They can also wear other protective gear to the center, and if they are not allowed to take them inside the center, they will have to dispose of them before going in.
The exam will comprise of two papers – 1, and 2. Paper 1 will be mathematics, and Paper 2 will be physics and chemistry. Paper 1 will have 50 questions in category 1, 15 in category 2, and 10 in category 3. Physics, chemistry will each have 30, 5, and 5 questions each in category 1, 2, and 3.

Whereas category 3 questions will have one or more options correct. Here correct answer leads to 2 mark, and no negative marking.
