New Delhi: NEET UG 2027 will be held as a computer-based test (CBT), but the National Testing Agency (NTA) has still not announced an exam date or released the information bulletin. For students, this means questions on a screen instead of an OMR sheet, and possibly an exam spread over several days. Most other details are still reported, not official.

NTA has not published the exam pattern for CBT mode. Until it does, details such as shift timings, test cities and duration are not final.
What CBT Mode Means for Students
- Answers on screen. You will read questions on a computer and select answers with a mouse. There is no OMR sheet to fill.
- Different papers in different shifts. If the exam runs over several days, each shift will likely get a different paper. In other NTA multi-shift exams, such as JEE Main, scores are normalised so that a harder shift does not put students at a disadvantage. NTA has not yet said how NEET UG 2027 will handle this.
- New kinds of centres. Centres are likely to be government schools and colleges with computer labs. You may get a shift and date allotted, not a single common exam day.
- Screen practice matters. Reading long Biology questions on a screen and moving between questions takes practice. Navigation, marking for review and time management work differently from a paper booklet.
NEET UG 2027 Expected Timeline
NTA has not given any dates. The table below is based only on the pattern of recent years, when the bulletin came out in February and the exam was held on the first Sunday of May. A multi-day CBT could change this.

Syllabus: No Change Announced
The National Medical Commission (NMC) decides the NEET UG syllabus. It has not announced any change for 2027. Only the mode of the exam is changing for now. Physics, Chemistry and Biology from Class 11 and 12 remain the base. Check the syllabus again when the 2027 bulletin is released.
NEET 2026 Paper Leak Case: Latest Status
The CBI filed its first chargesheet against 13 accused on July 28, 2026. On October 14, it was reported that the agency has filed a further chargesheet against a 14th accused, Sheshrao Bajrang Suryavanshi. The CBI alleges that three NTA subject experts took confidential exam material out of the NTA office by exploiting security lapses. The case is before a fast-track court at the Rouse Avenue Courts Complex in Delhi, and the next hearing is on October 22, 2026.

What NEET 2027 Aspirants Should Do Now
- Keep studying the current NEET syllabus. NCERT Class 11 and 12 remains the core.
- Take some full-length mock tests on a computer each month, not only on paper.
- Keep your documents ready: Class 10 certificate, Class 12 admit card or marksheet, category certificate if any, photo and signature.
- Check only neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in for dates. Ignore dates shared on social media until NTA confirms them.
