West Bengal Police Recruitment Board announces the date of final written examination for Lady Constable recruitment. Exam will be held on Sunday, October 07, 2018, from 12 noon to 1 PM.
In addition to the exam date, the board also notifies date of availability of admit card. The same will be available for download at policewb.gov.in from September 24, 2018. In order to download admit card, candidates have to log in with application number and date of birth. The board says
All efforts will be made to deliver SMS alert to the registered Mobile Number of the candidates. However, the Board will not be responsible for non-delivery of such SMS.
In addition it is made clear that hard copies of the document (hall ticket / admit card) will neither be sent by post nor can anyone collect it from the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board office.
It will be compulsory for all aspirants who wish to appear for the exam to present a printout of the officially issued admit card. Banned items at the test centre include mobile phone, digital wrist watch, any electronic gadgets, calculator, bluetooth enabled hearing device, copying material.
The board had conducted preliminary written test for Lady Police Constable recruitment 2018 on June 24, 2018. Result of the same was announced on August 04, 2018.
Initially the number of vacancies for Lady Constables were 2550, later it was increased by 31. Number of vacancies added are to the tune of 11 in UR, 5 in UR EC, 5 in SC, 2 in SC EC, 1 in ST, 1 in ST EC, 2 in OBC A, 1 in OBC A EC, 2 in OBC B, 1 in OBC B EC.
The recruitment exercise was started in the month of January this year. Candidates were asked to submit applications from January 3 to February 2, 2018.
As per the result of preliminary written test, candidates were asked to attend Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) that was held from August 20, 2018. For PET, PMT, candidates were also asked to carry photograph and proof of identity along with admit card.
Candidates who get selected for the post of Lady Constable should have completed class 10, and be between 18 to 27 years old. The applicant must be able to speak, read and write Bengali Language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. The board says
The selection process by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board is transparent and purely merit based. Hence, the candidates are advised to beware of the unscrupulous elements, racketeers, touts who may misguide them with false promises of getting them selected for the job on illegal consideration.
Ranks in West Bengal Police include that of Police Constable, Senior Police Constable, Police Head Constable, Assistant Sub Inspector of Police, Sub Inspector of Police, Inspector of Police.
Gazette officers in police include Deputy Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police.
