West Bengal Police Recruitment Board is conducting written exam for recruitment of constables. The exam is scheduled to be held on September 23, 2018, and its timings are 12 noon to 1 PM.
The one hour long exam will have questions on General Awareness and General Knowledge for 50 marks, Elementary Mathematics for 30 marks, Reasoning for 20 marks. There will be negative marking of 1/4th mark for incorrect answer.
Hall tickets or admit cards were issued by the West Bengal Police for this exam on September 08, 2018. Candidates can still download it from policewb.gov.in. Download hall ticket online.
WB Police may have also sent SMS to candidates, however, even if one has not received it, they should check the official website and download admit card as they will not get admission to exam hall without it.
In order to download admit card, candidates have to enter 8 digit application number, and their date of birth. Whether one had applied online or offline, this is the only means of obtaining admit card.
The admit card contains important information such as written test roll number, application number, candidate’s name, address, date of exam, time of exam, venue, reporting time, seating time. It is pivotal to follow timings mentioned in the document.
Through the notification that mentioned exam date and date of availability of admit card, WB Police had made it clear that no applicant gets admit card for Constable exam by post or any such means. It is also informed that no candidate will get it in hard copy from office of the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
It is strictly instructed to not carry mobile phones, digital wrist watches, Bluetooth enabled hearing device or any other electronic device on the day of exam. any sort of paper, textual material shall also not be allowed.
The preliminary written test is only qualifying in nature, its marks will only determine whether candidate can appear in PMT, PET, final written exam. Only those who first clear PMT, PET will be able to participate in the final written exam of 85 marks. Thereafter those who qualify it will be able to appear in interview.
West Bengal Police Constable Recruitment 2018 is for 5702 vacancies. Candidates with a class 10 pass qualification, between 18 to 27 years old, were invited to apply against the recruitment notification. Besides permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts, candidates must be able to speak, read, write in Bengali language.
West Bengal Police Recruitment Board is one of the two police forces in WB. The other one is Kolkata Police that functions as a separate entity.
South Bengal Zone of WB Police covers South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, Nadia, Murshidabad.
Whereas the Western Zone covers Hooghly, Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Birbhum, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Bankura, Jhargram, Purulia .
Finally the Northern Zone covers Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur.
