Recently a report claiming that the UPTET exam scheduled to be held on January 23, 2022, might be deferred to a later date owing to the sudden exponential rise in COVID-19 cases across the state was circulated on social media. The authorities have vindicated the report and clarified that the news is fake. Further, explained that the board is not considering postponing the UPTET 2022 exam and have released no such notices in this regard.
UPTET was earlier scheduled for November 28, 2021, but was canceled due to alleged exam paper leak in different social media platforms and hence was re-scheduled for January 23, 2022, and the estimated number of candidates for the exam is more than 21 lakhs.
According to the sources, the news of UPTET postponement started circulating on Sunday evening, which stated that the upper chief secretary of TET, Renuka Kumar had canceled the upcoming UPTET Exam which was to commence from January 23, and soon the post and news became viral as many people started sharing it without verifying it.
When the authorities came across the news and verified it, they stated it to be fake, and then the authorized examination chief secretary, Mr. Anil Bhusan Chaturvedi stated that the exams on January 23 are due to be held as all the preparations have been made.
Covid-19 and Omicron concerns
The appearing candidates for UP-TET exams are afraid of the increasing Covid-19 infections and the new Omicron variant’s spreading throughout. So, the concerned authorities are conscious that it will not be easy to conduct exams in this ambiance and are closely monitoring the situation.
The State Government is also taking necessary steps to slow down the spreading of viruses as well as implementing various measures, such as Night Curfew which has already been announced in the state to control the spreading of infection.
UPTET 2022 Admit Card
UPTET admit cards will be released on January 12, 2022, by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). Candidates need to download the admit cards from the official website once again to know the allotted examination center.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a free bus service for the candidates to reach the exam centers on January 23.
The candidates can download the admit cards, once the download link is made available by UPBEB, by the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the exam – updeled.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the Admit Card download link
Step 3: Enter the login details
Step 4: Download the UPTET Admit Card
Step 5: Take a printout of it
Candidates would be required to take the admit card to the examination center along with a valid government-issued ID card viz. Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter card, etc. The admit card will also serve as an entry pass to the exam center. Failure to carry it to the exam venue would lead to consequences.
