Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Board (UPSSSC) has released the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2021 notification. Subsequently, the registration process for the same began yesterday, on the official website upsssc.gov.in. Interested candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply online of the official website on or before June 21, 2021.
UPSSSC authorities shall be conducting the eligibility test for the recruitment of individuals to posts under Group ‘C’. Through the preliminary examination, authorities shall qualify candidates to the next stage of the recruitment process – the mains examination. This exam shall be conducted at a later stage and the exact date shall be notified by the board.
The marks obtained in the UPSSSC PET 2021 examination shall be valid for year after the announcement of results. Using the PET scores, candidates shall be required to appear for the mains examination related to various vacancies. They must remember that along with their PET scores, the candidate’s education qualification will also play a key role in deciding the suitable vacancy.
To get a prior idea of the posts or vacancies available, candidates must go through the eligibility criteria and information provided by authorities. Candidates who have passed the Class 10 examination from any recognised board in India shall be deemed eligible to apply for the preliminary exam. Furthermore, they must be between 18 to 40 years old to apply for the selection process.
Subsequently, candidates can make changes in their online application form by June 28, 2021. However, they are advised to read the instructions, eligibility criteria and other information before proceeding to the registration process.
To apply for the exam, candidates are required to pay a prescribed amount as application fee depending on their category. General/OBC category candidates have to pay Rs. 185 as application fee. On the other hand, SC and ST candidates must pay Rs. 95 while PwD candidates have to pay Rs. 25 as registration fee. They can do so using any of the online payment options such as Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking.
UPSSSC PET 2021 examination shall be conducted through the offline mode for a duration of 2 hours. The paper shall comprise of 100 questions for a total of 100 marks. It shall cover topics from Class 10 and 12 syllabi. While each correct answer shall be allotted 1 mark, 0.25 marks shall be deducted for every wrong answer. The main subjects to be covered in the exam include Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning, General Knowledge, General Science, General Hindi and Unseen Passage and Figures and Graph.
