Steps to take if shortlisted for SSB
The UPSC has released complete instructions for candidates who qualify through the NDA 1 Written Exam and are shortlisted for the SSB interviews. Once candidates have qualified through the written exam the following three steps must be taken by qualified candidates.
Step 1 – Book SSB Interview Date and Centre
At first, qualified candidates have to log in to the respective Army/Navy/Air Force website in order to book their Centre and Interview Date. Candidates have to register within 2 weeks of the release of the result. As per the official notification of NDA 1 2021, the websites of the Army, Navy and Air Force for booking SSB interview date and centre are as follows.
- joinindianarmy.nic.in
- joinindiannavy.gov.in
- careerindianairforce.cdac.in
Step 2 – Download SSB Call Letter
The SSB date and centre are communicated to the registered candidates on their email ID. Candidates are also issued admit cards to appear in the SSB interviews. The centre and date of the SSB interview can be checked from the call letter. It may be noted that the call letters are issued through the defence wing websites as specified in Step 1 above.
Step 3 – Appear in the SSB Interview
Along with the SSB Call letter, one must carry the documents supporting age and educational qualification to the SSB interview. The SSB interview is held as a two-stage selection process based on Psychological Aptitude and Intelligence Test. Candidates will be subjected to Stage I on the first day of the SSB Interview. Only those who qualify through the Stage 1 will be eligible to appear in the subsequent stages. Those who qualify through the Stage II selection tests will have to submit their original documents along with a photocopy of the Matriculation pass certificate and 10+2 passing certificate.
What After the NDA 1 2021 SSB Interview?
Once the SSB interviews are over, a final merit list of qualifying candidates is prepared on the basis of the combined merit in the Written exam and the SSB interview. The final merit list is published by the UPSC on the official website as per schedule. Based on the preference of candidates for admission to the Army/Navy/Air Force wings of the Indian Defence Academy, seats are allocated on the basis of the merit list.
