NTA is looking after end to end activities of UGC NET 2019. This is the second time that National Eligibility Test has been conducted by the National Testing Agency. Exactly 681718 candidates had appeared for exam, and now, all of them are waiting for UGC NET Result.
Candidates find each day waiting for result to be excruciatingly stressful. After all, fruit of months and often years of hard work are decided by it. Thus as soon as exam gets over, hunt for result date, and in this case UGC NET Result Date 2019 began.
In this regard, there are three dates you can be aware of. First date is the official date, provided by NTA that is the exam conducting body. Second date is the expected date, which has been predicted on basis of NTA’s usual result declaration trends. Third date is a rumored date, as per a notice floated on social media.
Officially, NTA will declare result of the National Eligibility Test held in June, by 15th July. This date has been stated in the information bulletin which was released by NTA while inviting registrations for the exam.
Expected date of declaration of result varies from the official date. It is expected that result will be announced on 10th July. This is because last time when NTA conducted UGC NET in December, result was out 5 days early. Otherwise also, NTA has a track record of publishing results sooner than promised, a pleasant surprise for test takers as it cuts down their number of days anxiously awaiting results.
Now here comes another UGC NET result date, 9th July. Back in February, one image was shared on social media which looks quite like an official notice. The notice was titled University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) -June 2019. As per this reportedly public notice, NTA said that it will conduct UGC NET for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship. It further stated that the test was to be a single three hour duration exam (which actually happened). Then below that, were dates. As per these dates, date of announcing of results is mentioned as “By 9 July 2019”.

On 3rd July, NTA stopped accepting challenges towards UGC NET answer key. Challenges received are considered by the agency, and evaluation of paper 1 and paper 2 are on basis of final answers compiled after considering all challenges. All candidates get 2 marks for correct answers either marked, or answered and marked for review. There is no negative marking in the National Eligibility Test.
As mentioned in the beginning of the piece, NTA is responsible for all happenings related to the exam. Thus ultimately date of declaring results are also in hands of the same. Once all processes associated with result compilation conclude, it will be launched at ntanet.nic.in, and candidates can check it from there. However once result is out, issuance of UGC NET e-Certificate and JRF are upon University Grants Commission. Once again, the exam will be conducted in December.
UGC NET is conducted to determine eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor and/or JRF. Candidates must get 40% in aggregate of paper 1 and paper 2, or 35% in case of reserved category candidates, in order to be considered for merit. Top 6% candidates are declared qualified in the exam.
