Test takers are already aware of the interface of the official portal. Still, on day of result, to ensure that all goes smoothly and one takes steps that take least time and have no chances of misstep, here is a step by step guide to check result of UGC NET 2019.
Before embarking upon the process, one should have a few important things. To start with, you should have a device such as laptop, computer, mobile, or tablet with a web browser and internet connection. Make sure that web browser is up to date. In addition, requisite login credentials are necessary. For the sake of checking result, either roll number or application number will suffice, with date of birth.
First step in checking UGC NET Result 2019 is to go to ntanet.nic.in. ntanet.nic.in is the official website of NTA UGC NET 2019. It is designed and hosted by NIC and data in it is updated by NTA. Answer key of UGC NET 2019 was also released here.
Second step is to look for red button for result. If at the time of visiting the website, result is available, then there will be a button of link for the same in the middle of the page.
Third step is, once you see the link for result, to click it. This takes you directly to a login page specifically created to check UGC NET 2019 result. If it takes a little time for the page to load, be patient and do not hit back or refresh button.
Fourth step is to login. To do that, you have to enter either application number or roll number, select date of birth using drop down menus. There will also be a space to enter captcha code, which you need to do. When all data is entered, hit submit button. In case you have forgotten application number or password, you can get it via forgot application number and password facility.
As soon as one logs in, the result displays on screen. NTA provides identifying data of candidate in the UGC NET result, such as name, roll number, registration number. Then details of how many candidates had applied and appeared in that subject is provided in the result. With regards to result, candidate’s marks in paper 1 and paper 2, percentage, and percentile score is also published.
UGC NET is an eligibility test. Through it, candidates are declared eligible for Assistant Professor or Lectureship, and only those who are declared so can apply anywhere in India for this position. Also, it determines eligibility for award of JRF. While UGC NET certificate for Assistant Professor remains valid without any upper limit of validity, that for JRF is valid for three years. The exam earlier used to be conducted by CBSE. Since December 2018, NTA has been conducting it.
