The National Testing Agency has officially postponed the UGC NET 2020 exam which was scheduled to start from September 16, 2020. Instead, as per an official notice issued through ugcnet.nta.nic.in earlier today, the exam is rescheduled to start from September 24, 2020. This is the second time that the NTA has postponed the UGC NET 2020 this year. Concerned candidates can check the official notice at the aforementioned website. Admit cards for the UGC NET 2020 exam are to be issued shortly before the exam date. Applicants have been directed by the NTA to regularly check the official website for further updates.

The National Testing Agency was all set to conduct the UGC NET 2020 exam from September 16 to 18 and September 21 to 25, 2020. However, the admit cards were not released even while 02 days were left before the exam. This led to widespread speculations on popular social media networks that the exam would be postponed. Now with the release of the official notice, the NTA has officially confirmed the postponement of the exam for the second time this year. The UGC NET 2020 exam is now rescheduled to be conducted starting from September 24, 2020. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held from June 15 to 20, 2020. However, the NTA postponed it for the first time as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled the exam to be conducted from September 16, 2020. This is, therefore, the second time that the UGC NET 2020 exam has been postponed and rescheduled to be conducted from September 24, 2020.
The NTA has indicated in the official notice that the exact schedule of the UGC NET 2020 exam as per the subject and as per shift will be communicated through the official website in due course of time. Similarly, successful applicants will also be issued admit cards before the exam date. The agency has cited a number of common candidates between the AIEEA-UG/PG and AICE JRF/SRF (PhD) 2020-21 & the UGC NET 2020 exam have driven the decision to postpone the exam. Reportedly, the Agency has also received requests in this context from applicants. The dates of the UGC NET 2020 exam were coinciding with the AIEEA-UG/PG and AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) 2020-21 exams which are also scheduled to be conducted on 16, 17, 22 and 23 September 2020.
Admit cards for the UGC NET 2020 exam will be issued shortly before the exam date at the official website mentioned above. Candidates are directed to keep visiting the website regularly to know about the latest developments and the release of the admit card. Admit cards containing the Roll Number, Examination Centre, Date, Time and Shift details of the exam can be downloaded as per schedule by logging in to the website using Application Number and DOB. It is worthwhile to mention that the admit card is mandatory to be produced at the exam centre on the day of the exam to be allowed to appear in the Computer Based Test.
