According to the latest notice released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), the candidates aspiring for the SSC GD Constable post will not get any extension on the last date of the application form. The notices says that the aspirants of Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2021, must apply by August 31, 2021.
SSC GD constable registration will end at 11.30 PM, on the due date. However, the last date to pay the application fee online is September 02, 2021. While the last date for the offline payment through challan is September 09, 2021.
The latest notice has created a panic amongst the students as several instances of a slow website, error in paying the application fee or uploading of the document has been reported. The commission has also advised that the candidates should fill their application forms early and not wait for the last date.
Candidates who have not applied yet can do so by visiting the official website of SSC, which is ssc.nic.in. There, candidates need to login first. Then, candidates need to click on the ‘Apply’ button. After this, click on the tab for ‘CONSTABLE-GD’. On doing so, candidates will be able to see – “Constables (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2021 Apply”. Click on apply and following it, the registration window opens.
The application fee for the exam is Rs. 100. However, candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / Females category are exempted from fee payment.
SSC conducts the GD Constable Exam annually to induct eligible candidates as Constables in Central Armed Police Forces, SSF, NIA, and Rifleman. This year, there are 25271 vacancies. The basic eligibility to apply for this exam is passing Matric or higher qualification exam from a recognised board. Additionally, the candidate’s age should be in the range of 18-23 years. The candidates who possess all the required eligibility can fill the application form either through the official portal of commission or via the Umang App.
After filling the application form, the candidates are required to check if their application form has been accepted by the commission. The major reason for application status being pending is non receiving of fee by the commission. The candidates should pay the application fee either online or offline mode. Once it is successfully done, the commission will accept the SSC GD application form.
As of now, the selection process of SSC GD Constable has two stages i.e. online written test and a physical efficiency test/physical standard test. The online test has four subjects namely, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/ Hindi. Each section accounts for 25 questions and the total duration to complete the test is 90 minutes. There is a provision of negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer marked by the candidate.
