Through this advertisement, South Western Railway has invited applications for 2 vacancies in two rather unique posts – 1 vacancy for Indian Classical Dance, and 1 for Light Vocal (Hindusthani or Carnatic music style). For the former, interested candidates must have a degree or diploma or certificate in Indian Classical Dance from a government recognized institute. Whereas for the latter, it is required to have a degree or diploma or certificate in music, light vocal in hindusthani or carnatic syle, also from government of India recognized institute.
The advertised posts are group C posts in level 2 of the 7th CPC, in pay band 1 that us Rs 5,200 to Rs 20,200 in grade pay Rs 1,900 in 6th CPC.
Railway job seekers who intend to apply for said music and dance posts, can have any one of the two educational qualification combinations. First option is class 12 pass with 50% in aggregate. Other is class 10 pass with apprenticeship or ITI. Although not mandatory, having experience in field and performance on AIR or Doordarshan, prizes at national level count as desirable qualifications.

South Western Railway (SWR) has announced a latest recruitment against cultural quota in level 2 of VII CPC of pay matrix. Only two vacancies are opened for disciplines of Indian classical dance and light vocal ( Hindustani or Carnatic music style). South western railway is headquartered in Hubballi, Karnataka which came into existence in the year April 01, 2003.
Any class 12th candidate who have passed with an aggregate of 50% are eligible to apply for this post. Those who have apprenticeship / ITI approved by NCVT / SCVT is also considered essential. Besides that, a candidate needs to possess a degree / diploma certificate from any government recognized institute for both the cultural disciplines. A candidate with a minimum of 18 to 20 years will be hired for SWR job.

The application should be filled in Hindi / English language only in a A4 size paper. The documents that needs to be enclosed with the application form includes self attested copies of academic qualification, community certificate, PwD certificate, birth certificate and cultural certificates.
An examination fee of Rs 500 is required to be submitted by General and OBC candidates. Whereas, candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD / Women / Minorities and economically backward classes has to pay Rs 250. The exam fee has to be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) drawn in favor of Asst. Personnel officer / HQ, South Western Railway, Hubballi, payable at Hubballi.
The appointment of the candidates against cultural quota will be accessed on the basis of written test of 50 marks and assessment of talent in relevant field of 100 marks. Candidates who qualifies in the written exam will have to appear for medical examination conducted by Railway Administration to ensure the candidates are medically fit or not to carry out the duties. The selected candidates will have to execute a service bond of 5 years at the time of their appointment.
