State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) Commission, Assam (N.E. Region) has released an important notice regarding the SLET 2022 exam date. The State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) 2022 examination has been rescheduled to March 2022, owing to upcoming assembly elections. Earlier, the state eligibility test was scheduled to be held on February 27, 2022. However, a clash between eligibility tests and elections is a sure-shot recipe for chaos, affecting the performance of candidates who have spent months preparing for this eligibility test.
What was the official notice?
SLET Commission, Assam published an important notice on its official portal sletne.org. As per the official notice –

Looking at the new exam date, it is clear that the SLET 2022 examination has been delayed by 9-10 days i.e., from February 27 in the initial stage to March 06, 2022. For candidates, instead of unavoidable delay, candidates can consider this to be extra preparation time to ace the eligibility test.
Assembly Elections in Manipur
As per official information, the Legislative Assembly elections 2022 in Manipur are scheduled to begin from February 27, 2022, and will continue till March 03, 2022. Thereafter, votes will be counted and results will be announced on March 10, 2022. Surprisingly, however, the new exam date falls within the election schedule. So, it is confusing why the SLET commission did not decide on a date post-March 10, 2022. There is, however, a plausible explanation for this.
Elections are commencing on February 27, 2022, and so, there is bound to be chaos on the first day. As days pass by, elections may run smoothly and hence, will not affect the conduction of the exam. Moreover, vote counting and result announcement are not as elaborate as actual polls. Hence, instead of causing a delay of 14-15 days, the commission decided on March 06, 2022, as the ideal date for conducting SLET 2022.
