Govt to Scrap UGC, Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) Announced!

The center on Wednesday announced to scrap the University grants commission act and to set up Higher Education Commission of India (HECI). The plans to set up single education regulator has been dropped. The ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) has prepared a draft bill to replace the UGC with a higher education commission, media reports say and the plan is to set up Higher Education Empowerment Regulation Agency.
