Since the reports of National Testing Agency (NTA) conducting JEE Main and NEET in December 2018 has surfaced, mixed reactions have been received from students and experts. While some see JEE Main and NEET December as an opportunity for admission, others disagree with the notion. NTA or MHRD have not thrown any light on the matter and the genesis of all the speculations are the news reports, lacking confirmation.

A few days back, we published Why NTA cannot conduct JEE Main and NEET in December 2018? Here are the Reasons!. We explored the reasons and feasibility of conducting two major national level examination in December 2018 and then in May 2019. The possibility of NTA conducting the exams in December are less. However, keeping an unbiased eye, it seems reasonable to explore “what if NTA conducts NEET and JEE Main in December 2018?”

What If NTA Conducts JEE Main and NEET in NEET 2018 – Are You Prepared?

Start Preparing Right Now: To begin with, if NTA conducts the exams in December then the candidates need to start preparing for it right now. Earlier, CBSE used to conduct both the exams after the school board examination. Which provided a buffer time of 1 to 2 months for the entrance exam preparation. However, for the December examination, only 6 months are left. Hence, it is time to gear up and begin the preparation in full swing.

Finish Syllabus Early: Candidates who have finished class 12th examination are not at loss but those who are currently studying in class 12th will have to finish syllabus early. The school will finish the syllabus at a pace appropriate for the board exams but to crack JEE and NEET, students will have to get through with syllabus as soon as possible.

Get Comfortable with Computers: For recently held JEE Main, a total of 1135084 candidates registered. Of these, 897766 applied for the offline examination and only 237318 opted computer based test. NEET has only been held in pen and paper mode and for it above 13 lakh candidates applied.

Now, looking at the data it is clear that a maximum number of candidates are comfortable with the offline paper. But if speculations are to be considered then JEE Main December and NEET December will only be conducted in online mode. So, it is adviced that the candidates start preparing for the online exam.

To get used to computer based examination, the candidates can practice online mock test and test series. Online sample paper are also a source of preparation. Candidates can also try and make all the notes and study material in the system. Getting e-books for preparation will help.

Other than this, candidates can also make a time table or plan to prepare for JEE Main December. There is no particular strategy to crack an examination but the candidates can try making study time table, short notes, etc. The same approach can be used for the NEET preperation.

As a final word of advice, candidates are not to take stress over the NTA December 2018 examination. As soon as any confirmed notice will be provided for it, we will update you. Till then, ask your queries or tell us your views in the comment section below.
