State Bank of India is inviting applications for engagement of 8500 apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in 2020. The nationalized financial institution has published a detailed advertisement in this regard at the official website sbi.co.in. Intending candidates can apply online at the website starting from November 20, 2020. The last date to register/apply online is December 10, 2020. The selection process includes an online written test tentatively scheduled to be held in January 2021. In addition, a test of local language will also be conducted.
As per the detailed advertisement number CRPD/APPR/2020-21/07, 8500 vacancies are available in various States/UTs of India. In addition, the vacancies are bifurcated across various constitutional categories including SC/ST, OBC, EWS and UR. Selected candidates are to be engaged for a period of 3 years in various seats available district-wise across the country. During the engagement, candidates are paid a stipend of Rs 15000/month during the first year. During the second year, the stipend amount will increase to Rs 16500/month. Similarly, during the third year, the stipend amount will increase of Rs 19000/month.
Candidates must be adequately qualified in order to apply for the recruitment. One must be at least 20 years old as on 31.10.2020 in order to apply for the recruitment. Besides, the maximum age of the candidates is 28 years. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC and PWD categories are eligible to avail relaxations on the upper age limit. In addition, candidates must have a Graduate degree in order to apply. Reading, writing, speaking and understanding proficiency in the local language of the state a candidate is applying to is also required.
Selection of eligible applicants is to be done through a online written test and a test of local language. The detailed test structure is provided in the official advertisement. The question paper will consist of 100 MCQ type questions distributed evenly across the sections of General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The duration of the test is 1 hour. Sectional timing of 15 minute is applicable for each section. Candidates must note that negative marking of 1/4th mark per incorrect answer is also applicable in the test.

It must be noted that no other form of application is accepted for this recruitment. Similarly, candidates have to pay the fee online using debit/credit card or internet banking.
