Yesterday, a notice was published on the official websites of RRBs that all candidates who have appeared in the first stage computer based test can select RRB and also fill option for Railway / Unit and posts. Previously, the centralized notification no (CEN) 01/2018 indicated that candidates will be able to select RRB, Railway and posts only if they qualify first stage CBT, that is after declaration of RRB ALP Result 2018 of first stage CBT.
Candidates are instructed to fill as many posts as they are eligible for in the priority of options. Railways will consider them for only those posts for which they have applied, and none else. Moreover, those who do not carry out this activity will not be considered for second stage CBT.
In addition to selection of RRB, Railway and unit, candidates can also select exam trade. This has been facilitated for two concerns that had arisen. One, many candidates have applied for multiple exam trades as they were eligible for more than one (on basis of their ITI / NAC, HSC, Diploma / Degree). Second, many candidates had requested RRBs that they want to change their exam trade. Thus now, Railways is giving them one chance to change trade, and finalise which one trade they want to appear in.
Candidates qualifying in Part ‘B’ of 2nd stage CBT in the chosen trade shall be considered eligible for all the posts for which they possess prescribed minimum educational qualification based on their merit in Part ‘A’ of 2nd stage CBT.
Another important change introduced is that RRBs have now made physics and maths as an exam trade. Its syllabus will be of CBSE for HSC.
For candidates with only ITI/NAC qualification the exam trade shall be their ITI/NAC trade given in the application and cannot be changed.
Last but not the least, RRBs are also asking candidates to confirm Bank Account Details viz Beneficiary Name, Bank IFSC Code and the Account Number, to facilitate fee refund.
Through the same notice, Railways has also announced that the number of vacancies is being finalized as 64371. There are now 27795 vacancies of Assistant Loco Pilot, and 36576 vacancies of Technicians. Candidates will be shortlisted for second stage CBT on basis of first stage CBT.
Also, RRB ALP objection tracker has been reopened on September 21, 2018. Last date to check question paper, answer key, submit objections is September 25, 2018.
