Since the GOAPS website was down, facing some technical issues for the past few days, the GATE authorities have decided to extend the closing date of the GATE 2019 application form process without any late fee till today i.e September 22, 2018. This is the last chance given by the authorities to all the interested candidates to complete and submit their filled up online applications along with the fees for GATE 2019 exam.
Candidates who wish to apply in the extended period can do so, between September 23, 2018, to October 1, 2018, by paying off the increased amount of application fee which is Rs.500/- extra. The GATE authorities have made it clear that there is only one official website i.e http://www.appsgate.iitm.ac.in (GOAPS) to submit the GATE 2019 applications.
Over their website, GATE 2019 authorities have clearly mentioned to carry out the application process and the fee payment without the One Time Password verification, as it has been seen to be taking much longer time than expected. The OTP verification could be done by the candidate even after the payment has been made.
There will be a scrutiny team, verifying the applications of the candidates and the documents or details provided. The scrutiny team will be processing the application and letting a candidate know if some rectification needs to be made via email ID or SMS. During this whole time, your application status will be shown as “Under Scrutiny” which may even continue after the application process has been closed.
Those candidates who will be notified of any error by the authorities have to make corrections in their application forms as per the notified schedule. After the application form correction window closes, no further corrections will be allowed and the data provided will be considered the final ones and based on which admissions will be done.
All those candidates who have submitted their applications will then be able to retrieve their GATE 2019 admit cards from their application portal. As per the dates confirmed, admit cards will be released on January 4, 2019.
This year, many entrance exams have gone through a roller coaster of changes, GATE is one of them. GATE has introduced a new paper on “Statistics”, making it an exam conducted for 24 graduate-level papers, this year. Also, the provision of submitting the online applications along with the late fee has also been introduced from this year onwards.
All candidates are advised to go through the information brochure, prior to form filling to know all the details that need to be filled and the correct manner in which they need to be filled.
