Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is all set to start RRB Junior Engineer CBT 1 (CEN 03/2018) from May 22, 2019. The examination is being held at the national level for 13487 vacancies. The exam will be held until June 2, 2019, and each day there will be three slots in which candidates will take the CBT.
RRB JE CBT 1 is a 90 minutes examination, in which candidates have to solve 100 multiple choice questions. Each question is of 1 marks and for marking incorrect questions, negative marking of 1/3 mark will be done.
Since it is compulsory to attempt all the questions, candidates only have less than 1 minute to accurately solve a question. Here are some tips to manage time in the exam and solve all the questions within the given time period.
Know Instructions in Advance: RRB has released a mock test for RRB JE CBT 1. It is available at the login and candidates can access it by entering the registration number and date of birth. Candidates should have a look at the mock test before appearing for the exam. This mock test is not valid for practice purpose but is a replica of how the CBT 1 will be. From it, candidates can understand all the instructions for the examination and not waste time in understanding the test on the exam day.

Quickly Attempt General Awareness and Science Section: The total questions and marks in General Awareness and Science section are 15 and 30, respectively. The candidates can save time by quickly reading the question and checking the response for it. A candidate either knows the answer to this question or does not. Hence, there is no point in investing time on these questions. Just mark the answer or move on to the next questions. Do not go for the hit and try because there is negative marking in the exam.

Attempt Easy Questions First: Total number of questions from Mathematics section is 30 and from General Intelligence and Reasoning 25 questions will be asked. These are very scoring subjects. Hence, the candidates should attempt easy questions first. Calculation especially takes time, So, it is advised that candidates attempt calculative questions after finishing all the easy questions. Since the time limit is less, it is important to realize that wasting too much time on one question is also a loss.
Don’t be Scared and Stay Focused: Worrying over a question that you do not know will decrease your efficiency. Hence, don’t be stressed about the exam before or while attempting it. Just stay focused throughout and give your best shot. You shall qualify with a good score.
All the best!
