Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has once again postponed the date for display of Group D exam date for candidates whose exam date is after October 16, 2018. Now the new date for exam date, centre city, shift display is “week of September 24, 2018”.
Initially, RRB was supposed to announce exam date, shift, city for candidates whose exam is after October 16, 2018, on September 13, 2018, then it was pushed to September 15, 2018. After that it was delayed to September 20, 2018. Now this is the fourth time date has been changed.
There is a single candidate login page to check exam details and download RRB Group D admit card for all boards namely RRB Ahmedabad, RRB Patna, RRB Ajmer, RRB Mumbai, RRB Secunderabad, RRB Allahabad, RRB Kolkata, RRB Bangalore, RRB Guwahati, RRB Bhopal, RRB Gorakhpur, RRB Chennai, RRB Bhubhaneshwar, RRB Chandigarh, RRB Ranchi, and RRB Bilaspur.
This is the fourth time that RRB has postponed exam details display for Group D applicants.
Exam date, city, shift was announced on September 9, 2018, for all candidates whose exams will be from September 17 to October 16, 2018. All other candidates could see a message “Dear candidate, the exam city and date information is live for candidates scheduled from 17.09.2018 to 16.10.2018 only. Your exam is scheduled after 16th October 2018 and the exam details for you will be live from 13.09.2018”.
Then on September 13, 2018, the same message changed to “Dear candidate, the exam city and date information is live for candidates scheduled from 17.09.2018 to 16.10.2018 only. Your exam is scheduled after 16th October 2018 and the exam details for you will be live from 15.09.2018”.
Two days ago, RRB Chandigarh displayed “Exam city, date and shift intimation for remaining candidates not scheduled till 16th October 2018 shall be live on 20.09.2018”.
Today, message that is displaying upon logging in says “Dear candidate, the exam city and date information is live for candidates scheduled from 17.09.2018 to 16.10.2018 only. Your exam is scheduled after 16th October 2018 and the exam details for you will be live in the week of 24.09.2018”.
What does it mean by “week of 24.09.2018”?
This means that said details will be released either on September 24, 2018 or in that week. It could be any date from September 24 to 29, 2018. RRB Group D applicants should, therefore, have to check their login every day in this week to see when they have been issued exam details.
Why has the date been changed again?
Recruitment for 62907 vacancies to various level 1 posts in India Railways has turned out to be the largest recruitment ever held in India, seeing the participation of 1.9 crore candidates. Computer based tests are being conducted in all parts of the country as a part of its selection process. CBTs are being conducted on 49 days from September 17 to December 14, 2018.
Whereas the boards have not made any separate announcement about this date change, but the information has been displayed at candidate login. It is speculated that the reason behind once again changing date is because Indian Railways servers are unable to bear the brunt of 1.9 crore candidates trying to login to check exam date and download admit card all at once.
On one hand candidates are visiting login page to check their exam dates, on the other hand others are accessing the same link to download admit card. This is leading to several technical issues on the website which also led to the website going down several times.
Since early morning hours of September 17, 2018, the download link was not working. First it was showing “URL blocked” error. Then it was showing “Too many users” message. Finally the link to check exam date, city, shift and download admit card started working at 8 PM.
RRB Group D exam details and admit card can be checked through email and SMS also.
At the time of publishing of this news, RRB Group D login page is intermittently working and going down.
A respite to the candidates, however, is that the boards are now also sending them call letter by email and SMS. Candidates can download admit card from their email and check roll number, test centre address, test centre name, exam shift, and other details.
