There were rumours going around on the internet about the postponement of REET 2021 but now the Education Department has also confirmed the same. On May 10, 2021, The Department of Education, Rajasthan shared news clippings which state that REET Exam 2021 stands postponed. Govind Singh Dotasra has also announced that the exam that was earlier scheduled on June 20, 2021, will not take place due to the Second Wave of COVID-19. News dates are expected to release once the condition is under control.
Earlier, there were speculations amongst the students that the Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teacher (REET) is postponed. With almost every national and Board exam cancellation/ postponement, REET aspirants were worried about the postponement of the exam. Now, the officials have confirmed the REET postponement by tweeting “Today’s news coverage”. In this tweet, the Department of Education, Rajasthan has shared 04 news clipping that discusses the postponement of the REET 2021.
The first news clipping discusses that Govind Singh Dotasra has announced the postponement of the REET exam. He said that due to the increasing number, it will be difficult to organize an exam. He further adds that State’s priority is citizens’ health and well-being hence the exam is being postponed till further notice.
The department has further shared three more news clipping which discusses the exam postponement. These news clippings discuss the Board of Secondary Education Ajmer has decided to postpone the exam that was scheduled for June 20, 2021.
Moreover, in the past 1 and a half year, the REET exam is postponed for the fifth time. The REET exam was supposed to take place on August 02, 2021. However, due to coronavirus, the exam was postponed to September 02, 2020. The exam date further extended and scheduled for February 2021. Due to no new notification regarding the same, the state-level eligibility test was again postponed. This time, the REET exam was announced for April 25, 2021. Due to Mahavir Jayanti and giving relaxation to the EWS category, the exam was deferred to June 20, 2021. Now, this exam date also stands postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19.
Students, on the other hand, have shown mixed reactions to this announcement. Some aspirants are in support of the REET postponement as they do not wish to appear for the exam amidst the second wave of COVID. However, others are unhappy that the exam is postponed for the 5th time. Aspirants seek a final date for the REET 2021 Exam so that they prepare accordingly and make travel arrangements. It is suggested that the REET aspirants regularly visit the official website and keep a close eye on the Twitter account of the Department of Education, Rajasthan to get the latest updates on the exam.
