The REET 2021 exam date may reportedly change again as per latest developments. As per latest reports, Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Kalcharan Saraf has requested the Rajasthan Chief Minister to change the exam date as it is colliding with Mahavir Jayanti in 2021. As per earlier developments, the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers 2021 is scheduled to be held on April 25, 2021 as a state level exam. The examination is being conducted after a long gap of 3 years to fill up 31000 vacancies.
As per latest media reports, BJP MLA Kalcharan Saraf has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot to reconsider conducting the REET 2021 exam on April 25, 2021. The MLA wrote to the minister that the current date of the exam is colliding with Mahavir Jayanti, which is one of the biggest festivals among the Jain community. In 2021, Mahavir Jayanti is also scheduled to be held on April 25, 2021.
BJP MLA Saraf wrote to the Rajasthan State Supremo that some of the designated exam centres of REET 2021 also belong to the individuals from the Jain society. In such a case, if the exam is held on the day of Mahavir Jayanti, then candidates, employees, invigilators and other concerned staff have to choose between the religious ceremony and the examination.
Based on such developments, it is expected that the REET 2021 exam date may change again. There are no reports of the Rajasthan CM commenting on the request. However, considering the importance of the festival among Jain society in India, it is highly likely that the REET 2021 exam may be conducted on a rescheduled date.
Aspirants of REET 2021 may note that the Rajasthan CM announced the exam date earlier in December 2020 in a public meeting. Thereafter, the official notification for the exam was published through the website of the conducting body i.e. rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in. REET 2021 online application process is currently ongoing at the official website. The last date to apply online is February 08, 2021.
Candidates who are yet to register for the exam are advised not to wait till the last date. As per the latest exam pattern, there are 2 papers in the REET 2021 exam. Paper-1 is for those who aspire to become a teacher of Class 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for those who aspire to be a teacher of Class 6 to 8. The examination is scheduled to be conducted as an OMR based test in centres across the state. The question paper carries 150 MCQ type questions in each paper. Candidates are allowed duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test for each paper.
