Recently an issue of the carelessness of recruitment board has been noticed in UP Police Constable Recruitment 2018 process. The result of carelessness turned into the violation of primary rules of recruitment, and some overaged candidates have been selected for the post of Constable. As per the eligibility criterion, the candidate of the age group of 18 to 22 years only can be selected in the Unreserved category. Rajkumar Vishwakarma, the Chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has ordered for the probe into this matter.
The Board announced the recruitment of 41520 Constables and PAC on January 14, 2018. At the time of recruitment commencement, the male candidates should be between the age group of 18 to 22 years, the date of birth of the candidates should be fall between, July 02, 1996 and July 01, 2000. Whereas the female candidates were given relaxation of 03 years, and their date of birth should fall between July 02, 1993 and July 01, 2000. The Board provided the relaxation to reserved category candidates and Ex-Serviceman and Homeguard. The candidates who were applying through the quota of the home guard should have experience of a minimum of 03 years and should not be less than 21 years.
The omission of rules first came into notice when 165 candidates have been selected from the Home guard quota whose age is less than 21 years. The selection of these 165 candidates has been canceled now. In the same quota, 232 candidates are called for the re-verification of documents. All this subsequent incident analyzed after the declaration of result on February 18, 2019.
The primary concern is that there were four stages in the entire recruitment, and the board couldn’t notice the age of candidates in any single stage. The forms of ineligible candidates should be eliminated in the screening of application itself. If still, any application remains which doesn’t fulfill the eligibility criterion then that should be eliminated in Document verification process. But all the rule and regulation of recruitment have been put on the stake. Now joining of all the selected candidates will be done after the investigation in this matter.
The Chairmen of UPPRPB said “Before giving the joining letter, we enquire the documents in the respective districts. So if there will be any mistakes it will be eliminated”.
In another recruitment of 49568 constables in Uttar Pradesh, the result was supposed to release on February 28, 2019. But neither result declared on the date nor any updates regarding the result declaration came yet.
