The Punjab Patwari Exam 2021 scheduled to be held by the Subordinate Service Selection Board of the Punjab Government has been officially postponed. The Board has released an official postponement notification in this regard at the official website i.e. sssb.punjab.gov.in. As per the notice, the Punjab Patwari examination, which was scheduled to be held on May 02, 2021 to fill up 1152 vacancies for the posts of Patwari, Zilladar and Irrigation Booking Clerk now stands postponed.
Earlier today, unofficial reports started circulating on the internet stating that the Chief Minister of the state, Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered the postponement of the Patwari exam in a latest cabinet meeting. The reports has been confirmed to be true now that the official postponement notice has been published through the website of the Subordinate Service Selection Board of the Punjab Government. It may be noted that the Punjab Patwari 2021 exam is not the first to be postponed in the wake of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic in the last few weeks.
The complete notice is available in the Punjabi language on the official website of the Board as stated above. A rough translation of the notice indicates that the Subordinate Service Selection Board issued the recruitment notification for 1152 vacancies of Patwari, Zilladar and Irrigation Booking Clerk through Advertisement Number 01 of 2021. Candidates who applied successfully to appear in the recruitment test were preparing to appear in the exam on May 02, 2021. However, in view of the COVID-19 guidelines published by the State Government of Punjab, the examination has been adjourned as of now.
The Subordinate Service Selection Board ended the online registration process of eligible candidates in February 2021. The exam date was announced to be held on May 02, 2021. However, the last few weeks has witnessed a wide-spread upsurge of COVID-19 cases in India. As a result, many government recruitment agencies have postponed recruitment examinations. For example, the UPSC has postponed the IAS 2020 Personality Tests while the Staff Selection Commission has postponed the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2021.
The Board has indicated that new dates to conduct the Punjab Patwari 2021 examination to fill up the 1152 vacancies will be issued in due course of time. It has been confirmed that the revised dates will be issued through the official website only i.e. sssb.punjab.gov.in. Candidates are advised to utilise the time better to prepare for the exam and keep a close tab on the official website for further updates.
